Water Fights

Today did not go at all as planned. I guess after a nearly perfect day yesterday, today was bound to be a lot less than perfect. Brad had forgotten to get drinks for his staff for one of their birthdays so he asked me at 8 to come in and do that ASAP. I was super sweaty from my workout so I fed Luke (poor little guy- I don't know how he doesn't look at me disgusted when I try to feed him all sweaty) and then jumped in the shower while Kade and Tenley made their own breakfasts.
Not too long after, Kade came in my bathroom upset because Ryder would not fold his arms for a prayer! I held back a laugh and smiled and told Kade to just say the prayer anyway. It just made me so happy that without me there instigating anything my cute little kids were trying to say a prayer before they ate their breakfast! Maybe the day wasn't so bad after all now that I remember that sweet little moment!

After getting drinks to Brad's staff the kids wanted to buy water guns to have a water fight at home. We went to the store but all the summer items were gone and the back to school things were out! That was crazy to me. We did find some water balloons at least so we bought those. After lunch we tried filling them up and apparently I need some special attachment in order to get water in them. The kids were pretty bummed about it. They tried really hard to find a solution. They looked for kitchen items that might work as a way to squirt water in the balloons, but after too many fails they gave up and used squirt bottles to have a water fight. They still had fun after all the disappointment at least!
