Dinner Dates with Kade

 We had a busy day today getting projects done and watching sports. Ryder and Luke helped Brad winterize the boat. I’m so sad boating season is over. It wasn’t long enough! Then we went to clean the office and then headed to Tenley’s school to watch her play volleyball. It was so much fun to see her play! She had a blast and they swept the other team! 

After her game she stayed at the school to watch the other teams play and Brad and I dropped Ryder and Luke off at their friends house and then met Kade at a restaurant for dinner because he had just finished soccer practice. It was rare to have a date out with Kade and it was really nice to have time with him like that!

Drives to the Temple

 Brad and I made it to the temple tonight. Our original plan was to go last week but the crazy winter storm changed our plans so we went today. The high wind made it a little difficult but not as bad as the snow and ice would have made it last week. We had a great session doing sealings and we were able to seal all the couple family names that I had brought. I brought 10 not thinking we would get to all of them but there was only one other couple there with two couples to seal so we had plenty of time. 

The kids had a fun pizza party at home together. They always love their kid party nights. I’m grateful they all get along so well!

Family Date Night

 Brad’s staff gave us a coupon to the escape room in town for Christmas and we finally cashed in on it tonight! We took the kids to dinner before hand which was delicious and then headed to the escape room. None of the kids had been to one before so they weren’t sure what they were in for. It was a pirate themed one and Brad was teasing Luke by telling him we might get stuck with the pirate skeletons if we can’t figure out how to get out! Haha. But we all had a great time, especially Luke, and we made it out in time even though we needed a few hints. It was a really fun family date night!

February Picnics

 It was another beautiful February day! I honestly feel like I’m on vacation somewhere else. This is crazy. Brad had patients that have lived here all their lives and have never seen days like this in February. We enjoyed the outdoors again today with a walk, lots of playtime outside, and Luke even ate lunch outside with me on our back porch. It felt so nice.

Brad and I went on a date tonight and we had to wait about 20 minutes for our table so we went for a walk downtown to enjoy the beautiful weather. I am loving this.

The Temple

 It was a perfect sunny and hot day for the boat, but the kids had a youth temple trip with the ward that they didn’t want to miss so we stayed home from the lake. They had a great time at the temple so I’m glad we stayed. We got a lot of chores done as well; weeding, cleaning, fix it projects for Brad. And then Brad and I went on a date tonight to see “Fiddler on the Roof.” The talent in our little city was impressive! It was a fun night.

Basketball

 I got out of the house today! It was so nice especially because the 60 degree weather made it that much more amazing. I got my teeth cleaned at Brad’s office which is always a great feeling and then I went to the crosstown basketball game tonight with Brad and Kade. Tenley stayed home to take care of the little boys for me. The game was a lot of fun and our team won! It’s so nice to feel almost back to normal again. 

Kayaking

 Since Tenley had volleyball camp today we knew we wouldn’t have enough time to go boating so we decided to float the river instead. It’s been a while since we’ve done that and it was a lot of fun! Luke and I shared a kayak and he’s always a blast to be with. Brad and Kade brought fishing poles and Brad did catch a fish. It was a really hot day so it was perfect to be on the river.

Brad and I had a fun date night tonight. Jeff Dunham was performing at the fair so we got to see him and walk around the fair a little bit. There were a lot of people there tonight! And we were out late but it was fun! We laughed a lot. Kade and Tenley were the best babysitters. The dishes were done and everyone was sleeping when we got home.

Picnic Dinners

 Today was chore day and we also got to plant some fresh flowers. The kids were really helpful with planting though so it made it a lot of fun. It’s nice to have flowers! I should have taken an after picture! Haha

Brad and I got to go on a date tonight. Although for some reason every weekend when he’s driving my car needs to be filled up. So he filled up my car with gas and took it to the car wash. So sweet! Then we ordered our favorite salads and had a picnic dinner by the river. I love simple nights like that.

Scrimmage

 Kade and Tenley both had scrimmage games today. Kade's was first and he played hard. They switched up the teams a lot. It was just a fun way to get some practice in. Then Tenley got to play with her team. She's been learning a lot and having a scrimmage game was a great way for her to learn even more. She played hard as well. Her face was bright red when they finished! Poor Kade and Tenley have my fair skin and they always hate when their faces get so red playing sports. But it just shows how hard they're working! 

Tonight Kade got to go hang out with a lot of his friends and Tenley got to hang out with her friend Mae. Since our older kids were gone, Brad and I decided to take just Ryder and Luke out to dinner. It seemed a lot less chaotic even though it was our two little boys. They were on good behavior and ate well. 

Funny side note. Tenley was telling me the other day how different Brad and I are at least when it comes to what music we listen to in the car. I guess Brad's been listening to 50s music with the kids in the car. That is definitely not something he's always done, but he's been enjoying listening to it with the kids lately. And then the kids get in my care and we listen to a lot of current pop music. They say they like both styles though. Anyway tonight with the little boys on our way home from dinner the song 'Cheek to Cheek' came on and those boys got a huge kick out of that title! I don't know why things like that get little boys to giggle so hard! 

Sunrise, Brad

 I feel like I haven't seen the sunrise for a while, but I saw it today! Tenley had to be to her volleyball game at 7:30 so we were up early enough to see the sunrise. It was beautiful! And the warmer weather has been so nice.

Tenley played well at her game! They lost so now they are 2-2. Not that it matters. She's having a great time playing with her friends.

Date night tonight consisted of dropping a birthday treat off for my friend Bonnie who I actually haven't seen in almost a year. It was really really really good to see her. Then we had to make a stop at Home Depot for another Brad project. And then we went out to our favorite Mongolian BBQ restaurant. They have raised their prices significantly so it may be a long time before we go there again!

I also have to give Brad a huge shoutout! I've been keeping this blog for over 12ish years now and for some reason March 2020 to the present time wasn't showing any pictures! It was frustrating and I just could not figure out why or how to get the pictures back. It just had links posting instead of the pictures. Brad spent a lot of time on it for me and yesterday he finally fixed it all! He thought we would have to go through post by post and picture by picture (which would have been hundreds and hundreds of photos!) but somehow, thanks to his genius brain, he did it all at once. I am so grateful that he's such a great problem solver!!

Sweet Ryder

Tenley didn’t sleep well last night. She has a cold coming on and rested a lot today. I noticed Ryder making some hot chocolate just for her. He’s a sweetheart!

Brad took me out to dinner tonight for my birthday. It was so sweet of him. We had a fun date night!

Kade actually got to go skiing today with a friend. It was his first time all season. He said the snow was great! Hopefully the rest of us can get up to the ski hill soon.

The Temple

We made it to the temple tonight!! It was a busy day and Kade had to leave his basketball practice early but we made it work. It was so nice to be in the temple and we had friends there with us which made it even better!

Good Intentions

Brad and I had plans to go to the Helena temple today. I was so excited to go. We haven’t been there yet since it’s been dedicated. We said goodbye to our kids and headed on our way but just 20 miles out of town one of Brad’s tires started losing air fast. We made it to the Ulm exit and pulled over at the gas station and you could hear the air coming out of a hole. So in his nice suit Brad changed the tire and we headed home to the tire store. We’ll have to try going to the temple again next week. 

We spent the night with the kids watching a Christmas movie and even though the day didn’t go as planned we made the best of it.

Date Night

We had a busy day filled with good things. Kade has basketball practice and he’s really loving it. His coach is awesome and the players on the team are even better. It’s been a great experience so far. Luke had a birthday party with friends from co op. They had a blast. Then Brad and I got to go out to eat with friends. We went to a resort for dinner with a five course meal. It was fancy and delicious. I got my own s’mores for dessert that I made at the table. It was a lot of fun and we had fun with our friends. 

Garden Food and Shakes

Luke loves the garden the most I think. He’s been out there the past few days picking carrots, brining them inside to wash and then eating them! And he’s a really big helper when it comes to picking raspberries!

He’s also quite the ice cream monster. Kade has a free shake coupon that we cashed in on tonight and the kids couldn’t get enough! Luke finally stopped when he realized his stomach hurt. Lol.

Family Dates

We all got to go out to dinner together tonight. The kids had fun in the car playing clapping games. And then on the way home they played the quiet game with out Brad or me even asking them to. I found out later they did it so I would make them muddy buddies for dessert! Lol. It worked!

Double Dates

We had a productive morning cleaning the house. The little boys dragged the bean bag up to their room so they could read books together and it was pretty precious to catch them doing that. Brad and I were able to go out on a double date with friends tonight and it was really nice! We had good conversation and enjoyed our time out!

Lunch Dates

I was actually really sad to have to take the kids to school this morning and to not be headed off on a fun family adventure. The weather was hot today and the river was caling my name! But Brad made up for it by taking me out to lunch and on a walk. Quiet times like these are nice too.

After we picked the kids up we had to run some errands so we got them some Icees. And then I finally got to watch the new Top Gun movie tonight. It was good!

The Wax Museum

Tenley 4th grade class had their wax museum today. They all did such a great job! Tenley was Sacajawea. She looked so cute and had her speech memorized. I was so proud of her!

I had a fun day with Brad. We took the little boys for a walk (Ryder stayed home with us. He had a cough all night but seems just fine). We purchased some flowers to plant and we went out to dinner tonight. I also planted some flower pots. I love seeing our yard green up and our trees bloom. It’s so pretty!

Change of Plans

Brad was supposed to go fishing today but the weather canceled his plans so we had a fun day together. We went for a walk by the river in the morning and then out to lunch and to run errands before picking up the kids from school. It was nice.

Kade’s soccer games may be canceled tomorrow as well due to the weather. We will see what happens!
