Kites

The kids got another Kiwi Co box today. They love them! Kade’s was probably too easy for him but he did get a math book that he’s been having fun reading. Tenley loved her art project and Ryder’s was all about things that fly. We made airplanes, helicopters and a kite! Luckily there were enough materials to make two of everything so Luke got to join the fun as well! It was great.

While Kade was at his ninja class today, I had a zoom meeting. So, Tenley had to take care of the two little boys downstairs. Somehow she got Luke to sleep! She is amazing.

Today started out kind of stressful for me, but it ended so much better. The kids were cute and fun and I was able to talk to my Dad about some things that are weighing me down. I don’t care how old you are, sometimes it just helps to talk to your Dad!

Red Shoes

Several months ago Brad found a deal on kids shoes so he bought them each a pair. We bought Ryder a size bigger than he needed at the time and told him he could have the new red ones when he knew how to tie his own shoes. He’s been trying every once in a while to tie his shoes, but today he was ready to do it for real! He worked on it for a while with my help and then for a while on his own and now he’s tying his own shoes! He was pretty happy to earn his new red shoes! I was impressed by his efforts!

Kiwi Co

I finally bought my kids a project box from Kiwi Co. Tenley got an art kit and Kade and Ryder got a science kit. They all spent the afternoon building their kits. Ryder needed some help but the other kids did it all on their own. It was so much fun!

Routine

I always enjoy getting back to a routine. I seriously love being out of one as well, but it is nice to be back to school. We’ve changed things up a little bit and we had our scripture/inspiration time while we had breakfast. I even made Tenley wake up early so we could all eat at the same time. We talked about our fears and the tools we can use to crush them. It was interesting to hear them talk about what scares/worries them. But I love love love giving them pep talks to help them overcome their fears and insecurities. I hope these morning talks help them in their lives.
After breakfast we all went straight downstairs to practice Cosmic Kids yoga. After yoga Kade and Tenley got ready while Ryder and I did his school together. Then we had a science lesson all together and then I had the rest of the time to just focus on Kade and Tenley and their math and English. It worked out so well. I hope we can make this more of a habit.

Field Trip

We all got to go on a field trip today to a funeral home. The kids weren’t so sure about it at first, but they ended up really enjoying the tour. It was a beautiful building built in 1931. I loved the architecture and cool design of the whole place. It was also really interesting and the owners were so kind! We really enjoyed learning something new!

Friday Adventures

I love having Brad home on Fridays. It’s been especially nice since we’ve been homeschooling the kids. We always make sure to do something fun as a family and learn something new along the way. Brad has always been good about teaching the kids something new whenever he gets a chance.
Today we hiked to white sulfer springs where Lewis and Clark used that water to help Sacajawea when she was ill. We learned new things and had a fun family adventure song the way.
We went out to the fancy restaurant Kobe in town for Brad’s birthday with the kids. We had a fun night out. And the mask mandate was lifted here a few days ago along with the restrictions on social gatherings. Its been so good to see people’s smiles again!
