Easter Party

Kade drove himself to seminary, school, soccer practice, and a friends house today. It probably saved me over an hour of time not having to take him everywhere. But it was sad not to have all that time with him. He enjoyed it so much. He is busy but he’s having so much fun.

We had an Easter party at co op today. The kids love their co op friends! We also ate a lot of fun food from South Korea that my brother picked up for me. It was so much fun to try new things.

Teenage Driver

Kade officially has his drivers license! He passed the driving text today and so now he’s official. It’s so crazy to me how quickly he all of a sudden became a young man. Now we just need to get a kid car for him to use.

We got to go to a music concert for Tenley tonight. It was to spotlight her for graduating the first Suzuki level on the flute and the second Suzuki level on the piano. She is such a talented girl!

The Passenger Seat

Kade has been driving me around lately! He’s slowly getting his hours in. It’s a bit scary being in the passenger seat and wanting to break but not being able to. Hopefully we make it through this next six months safely!

Tenley helped Luke out with school today. It was sweet. Those two work really well together!

Learners Permit

Kade has been able to take his written driving test since he turned 15 a few weeks ago, but he’s been so busy that he hasn’t even had the time to try. He finally had a few hours free after school today so we headed straight to the DMV and he passed the exam! Hooray!! He was so excited. Now we have to wait six months until he can take the driving test and get him plenty of driving time behind the wheel and then he’ll have his license! I’m nervous and excited about it all at the same time!

Apple Crisp

Right when we got home from church and we all went to our rooms to change, I heard Kade playing a Star Wars song in his violin. I love the sound of the violin! It’s so much fun to hear him play. And then Tenley got out her flute and played as well. She’s so cute!
The weather was gorgeous again so we spent a lot of time in the backyard. And Kade made us apple crisp tonight! It was so good! We also had a long discussion about smart phones. Kade is in the 1% of students in middle school that does not have a phone (so he says). He wishes he did but he says he understands why we don’t want him to have one. It’s such a tough situation for him and for us to figure out. We need to decide when he can have a phone but it definitely won’t be a smart phone! Our kids might hate us. 😬
