Safe Travels

 Brad, Kade, all of his brothers and his Dad finally made it to their fishing grounds. It took a lot longer than they expected it would to get there. Because of the weather they weren’t able to fly the small plane to the lodge so they weren’t able diverted to the other side of the island and took a bus and a boat ride instead. They finally had dinner after 10 pm! I hope tomorrow is a better day for them! 

Tenely had a great last day at FSY. I can’t wait to see her tomorrow! And Ryder, Luke and I made it to Idaho Falls! 

Adventures for the Kids

 My little family is spread out in three different places right now. Tenley is still at BYU and Brad and Kade left for Canada this morning. It was a long drive for them but they made in time for dinner and to walk around the city and see the World Cup venue with Kyle and Max. I think they’re having a great time!

Tenley must have been really busy today because I didn’t get to hear from her very much. But from what she did say it was a good day!

Ryder, Luke and I had a good day as well. They had their last soccer game tonight and they rocked it! Ryder kicked a cross to Luke and Luke scored a goal! It was such a fun season having them on the same team!

Messages from Tenley

 I love hearing from Tenley every night. She gives me a fun update of her day and she’s so happy. She also sends pictures! My kids know how much I love pictures so I’m so grateful that she’s been taking pictures every day for me so I can see what she’s been up to. 

We had a pretty normal day here. Kade found some snapper fireworks and the boys had fun playing with those. It’s hot and smoky!

Dr. Dad

 We had a very sad incident on Sunday. Luke tripped by the treadmill while it was running and got his fingers stuck on the belt which caused it to burn off several layers of his skin. It makes me sick to see and hurts my heart! He’s been handling it so well but it hurts when we clean it. Luckily Brad has been helping him take care of it. Luke and I are so grateful. I hope it heals quickly.

Tenley is still loving FSY and even got to tour the MTC today. Kade went out with friends to the fair tonight and enjoyed that. The rest of us enjoyed a quiet evening at home.

BYU FSY

 Tenley made it to BYU Provo today for FSY! She is so excited to be there! She’s across the hall from her cousin and she says she has a great company and room mate. Her room mate is from New York City! I’m so excited for her and I know she’ll have a great week.

The Johnsons

 My friend Jenn that I’ve know since elementary school and her amazing six children stopped by to spend the night tonight. It was so good to see her and meet her kids. I love her kids! They are adorable. Ryder and Luke had so much fun playing with Adelaide and Isaiah. It was a fun night catching up!

Road Trips

 I drove to Idaho Falls and back today. I needed to get Tenley to Idaho Falls by Sunday night but I have some things going on tomorrow so I decided to do a day trip today. It actually went a lot better than I thought. I was worried I’d be really tired but I found a great audio book that kept me awake. I had fun talking with Tenley on the way down too. I miss her but I know she’s in great hands with the Murdocks! She’s going to have so much fun at FSY next week.

I got to meet my newest great nephew, Roomke, today as well. He is such a precious little boy!!

The boys got some chores done at home and then went and picked huckleberries. They were hoping to escape the heat up in the mountains, but it was still really hot up there. They found a lot of huckleberries though!

The Lake

 We made it to the lake today. I love boating on Friday when hardly anyone is there. We had such a great time as a family! Luke became a big kid when he decided to jump off the cliffs with Kade, Tenley, and Ryder. He loved it! I’m glad he went for it and didn’t back down. We enjoyed smooth water, lots of swimming, and yummy food.

The Hobson Bros

 Ryder and Luke had another soccer game tonight. We showed up to the game listening to Pump up the Jam! And I think the boys were pumped up! They played hard and walked off their field so tired and with red faces. That makes me happy to see them give it their all. Ryder had two goals and several great passes. Luke had so many great moves and almost scored twice. I loved spending this hot summer night watching them play!

My Big Kids

 Kade has been such a good oldest child this week. He’s been taking really good care of everyone and I know Tenley has been a big help too. He took them all out for ice cream yesterday and he took them to the park to play frisbee today. They seem really happy. I miss being with them. We didn’t even make it home for lunch today because we had a patient at the office late through lunch. Brad and I ran over to pita pit to grab lunch since we couldn’t make it all the home. I wasn’t complaining to have an impromptu lunch out with Brad!

Survival

 Today was my first full day of work by myself. I am certainly glad I’m just filling in and I’m even more glad that Ashley is so great at her job. We are lucky to have her. But we survived today. It’s fun working with Brad and his staff. They are all so awesome and so kind. 

The kids survived at home as well. I left them a list to keep them busy all morning. They even took the dogs for a walk and Kade took them out for ice cream after lunch. I hope tomorrow goes just as well.

Ryder and Luke had another soccer game tonight. Ryder scored again! And Luke played so hard again even against the kids twice his size. 

Sleep

 We are all still a bit sleep deprived. My kids seem to show it in different ways. Some of them are angry and irritable and some of them just fall asleep in the middle of a conversation with me! Our fun weekend was worth the sleep deprivation though.
