I tried to forget all my to-do's and just be a mom today. Of course, texts and emails still came up with things I needed to take care of. It isn't easy to completely forget about reality. My church calling and being the bookkeeper for Brad's business both require a lot of attention. But for the most part I had a really great day just focusing on my kids.
The kids rode their bikes to the park and I pushed Luke in the stroller. It was Tenley and Ryder's first bike ride outside of our street that they ride up and down and they both did awesome! I was especially impressed with Ryder as he tried so hard to keep up with the big kids. He went over big bumps with ease and if his pedals ever got stuck he'd fix them on his own, determined to be independent of my help. It was kind of cute.
I finally forced myself to wear bug spray. The mosquitoes are crazy here! Growing up in Utah you'd really only need bug spray at night if you were in the mountains. Here, you need it all day every day! I've probably had over 25 bites this past month and mosquito bites do not sit well with me. They swell up big and itch like crazy! My body has looked like a war zone. So even though it stinks and is sticky, bug spray is my new best friend.
After our bike ride we had lunch with Brad as usual and then took Ryder to get his 2 month old immunizations. He cried for a minute and then fell back to sleep. Most perfect baby ever!
Then we went to the library to make up for yesterday. Anytime my kids are being too rowdy I just need to take them to the library. They are instantly perfect kids whenever we are there. It must be the library atmosphere. They're quiet and calm. I sat and read a book while they played and searched for books of their own. We really need to go there more often! Kade was excited to find a lot of shark books. His love for sharks has only grown as he's gotten older. He's so excited to watch a lot of shark shows this week!
