Anniversaries

We have officially been in our home for one whole year now and Brad has been at his very own practice for a year now as well. I can't believe it has been a year already! Brad had a lunch meeting with his staff and one of them brought him a cake to celebrate his first year. He brought the rest home and we all had some tonight to celebrate. It's been a great year in his business and an even better year in our very own home. We really are so happy here in Montana. We love his staff, we love his patients, we love our neighbors, we love our ward, and we love beautiful Montana.
Getting to this point was hard. It took a lot of searching and a whole lot of patience. There were days in the thick of it all that I wondered if it would ever work out for us (because I can be dramatic like that at times). It can be so hard to keep your perspective and look forward to the future when you're going through a hard time or when you know you're not where you're supposed to be and there's a lot of work required to get to where you want to be. It's so hard to know that there will be a day when your hard work will pay off and you'll be where you can only now dream to be. Looking back at the hard road that got us to this happy time has taught me that consistent, daily, hard work and perseverance will always bring about good results in time. We just have to be patient and keep doing what we know we should be doing. The blessings come!
On Sunday Elder Stevenson talked a lot about how our good actions bring blessings and blessings bring us JOY! Bad actions bring us no blessings and no blessings make us miserable. So do good things! The blessings will come, even though they may be slow at times, they will come! And as they come your life will be filled with more and more JOY.

Uncle Bill

My Uncle Bill passed away suddenly this month and his funeral was today. I hate having to miss funerals of my family but we couldn't make it work this time. Uncle Bill was always so nice and so, so funny. I will always remember his laugh and big smile. He was a great man and my heart is with his wonderful kids, my cousins.

I was in charge of family tonight and chose to take the family mini golfing! Our little town has the cutest little mini golf course and we had a blast playing together. It was fun to do something different.

Ryder just learned to snap a few days ago and has been doing it so much that he got a blister on his finger! Poor little guy.

William Robert Feveryear Obituary
William Robert
Feveryear
May 27, 1943 - July 18, 2018
With tender hearts, we say goodbye to William Robert Feveryear, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and example to all. He passed away unexpectedly in his home on July 18, 2018.
Bill was born May 27, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lynn Jay and Lucy Ada Clark Feveryear. He graduated from West High School in 1961. Bill joined the Marines and served his country honorably, earning the rank of Corporal E4 Class. He met his sweetheart and eternal companion, Marlene Jane Miller, and they were sealed for time and all eternity on June 20, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 40 years.
Over the years, Bill touched many lives. All who knew this extraordinary man felt his love and enjoyed his contagious smile and sense of humor. He was a great example in joyfully living the gospel with an unwavering faith and testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ. His unconditional love was felt by everyone. His greatest joys are his eternal companion, his children and his grandchildren - we are all his favorite! He served in many capacities, including: bishop, high counselor, youth and scout leader, temple worker, and various service missions with his wife. Some of his hobbies included fishing, golfing, shooting guns, games, watching the Utes and Jazz, and of course supporting his grandchildren. Dad taught us the value of hard work, integrity, and honesty all through his example. He was happiest when he was with his wife and children.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Marlene, of 49 years; his children Lisa Maxey, Bill Jr. (Tamie), Aimee (Steve) Potts, Shannon (Rob) Jaffa, Jeffrey (Hollie), Thomas (Jessy), Rebekah (Brandon) Rauen, and Stefanie (Bryon) Leavitt; his twenty-six grandchildren; and siblings Lynn Jr. (Terry) Feveryear, Nancy (Bill) Taylor, Melissa (Richard) Christensen, April Pogue, Melissa (Richard) Christensen, Elizabeth (Michael) Klint, and Angela (Duane) Woodruff. He was preceded in death by his parents Lynn and Lucy Feveryear; his sister Trudy Jane Feveryear; and in-laws Henry and Grace Lillian Miller.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Pebble Hills LDS Church on 8735 South Harvard Park Drive, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held the night before on Sunday, July 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and the morning of the funeral from 9:30-10:30 AM at the same location.

Apostles

Our stake had a special fireside tonight because Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles came to our little city to speak to our youth. It was pretty neat to be in such a small setting with an Apostle and it was such a great opportunity for our youth. All the youth sat in the front and us 'old' people sat behind them. The youth are so special and so amazing and I'm so grateful every day that I get to hang out with them so much. They are awesome.

Sunday isn't Sunday without Brad's yummy Italian sodas!

The Fair

We went to the state fair today. The kids had fun riding rides and watching magicians. They don't have many animals though which makes me sad. It's always fun to see the animals.
While I was on the ferris wheel with Tenley and Ryder it started to drizzle a little bit and by the time we made it over to the merry-go-round it was pouring! Everyone screamed and scattered to find shelter! It was crazy. I couldn't stop laughing at our predicament. Brad and Kade weren't with us and we didn't have any shelter that close to us. Luckily Luke was well protected in the stroller. A nice man ended up helping me lift Tenley and Ryder over the gate to hide out in the merry-go-round. And then I ran as fast I could to an opening to get the stroller up on the ride as well. We waited the storm out for about 10 minutes and then it was sunny and warm again! It took us a few hours to dry off but it's a fun memory!

Montana Summers

It was a beautiful day for a bike ride this morning as most days have been lately. The summer time here is the best because it doesn't usually get too hot and it always cools off in the evening enough for us to open the windows and enjoy the fresh air. I love it.

Summer Rain Storms

We took it really easy this morning and were in pajamas until after 10. It was a necessary break from the busy, early mornings that we've had lately. I made Tenley's favorite breakfast (german pancakes) and then the kids played legos together for a few hours.
After we finally got ready for the day we packed a lunch and headed to the park. Thursdays are becoming one of my favorite days of the week for this reason. Picnics at the park are the best! The kids made some new friends too. Kade had decided to bring some balls and a bat along so when some boys his age showed up they asked to play with him. The weather was cloudy and we ended up getting rained on a little bit, but the kids still played outside and Luke and I just waited it out in the car. It was such a great afternoon.

Water Fights

Today did not go at all as planned. I guess after a nearly perfect day yesterday, today was bound to be a lot less than perfect. Brad had forgotten to get drinks for his staff for one of their birthdays so he asked me at 8 to come in and do that ASAP. I was super sweaty from my workout so I fed Luke (poor little guy- I don't know how he doesn't look at me disgusted when I try to feed him all sweaty) and then jumped in the shower while Kade and Tenley made their own breakfasts.
Not too long after, Kade came in my bathroom upset because Ryder would not fold his arms for a prayer! I held back a laugh and smiled and told Kade to just say the prayer anyway. It just made me so happy that without me there instigating anything my cute little kids were trying to say a prayer before they ate their breakfast! Maybe the day wasn't so bad after all now that I remember that sweet little moment!

After getting drinks to Brad's staff the kids wanted to buy water guns to have a water fight at home. We went to the store but all the summer items were gone and the back to school things were out! That was crazy to me. We did find some water balloons at least so we bought those. After lunch we tried filling them up and apparently I need some special attachment in order to get water in them. The kids were pretty bummed about it. They tried really hard to find a solution. They looked for kitchen items that might work as a way to squirt water in the balloons, but after too many fails they gave up and used squirt bottles to have a water fight. They still had fun after all the disappointment at least!

Bike Rides and the Library

I tried to forget all my to-do's and just be a mom today. Of course, texts and emails still came up with things I needed to take care of. It isn't easy to completely forget about reality. My church calling and being the bookkeeper for Brad's business both require a lot of attention. But for the most part I had a really great day just focusing on my kids.

The kids rode their bikes to the park and I pushed Luke in the stroller. It was Tenley and Ryder's first bike ride outside of our street that they ride up and down and they both did awesome! I was especially impressed with Ryder as he tried so hard to keep up with the big kids. He went over big bumps with ease and if his pedals ever got stuck he'd fix them on his own, determined to be independent of my help. It was kind of cute.
I finally forced myself to wear bug spray. The mosquitoes are crazy here! Growing up in Utah you'd really only need bug spray at night if you were in the mountains. Here, you need it all day every day! I've probably had over 25 bites this past month and mosquito bites do not sit well with me. They swell up big and itch like crazy! My body has looked like a war zone. So even though it stinks and is sticky, bug spray is my new best friend.

After our bike ride we had lunch with Brad as usual and then took Ryder to get his 2 month old immunizations. He cried for a minute and then fell back to sleep. Most perfect baby ever!
Then we went to the library to make up for yesterday. Anytime my kids are being too rowdy I just need to take them to the library. They are instantly perfect kids whenever we are there. It must be the library atmosphere. They're quiet and calm. I sat and read a book while they played and searched for books of their own. We really need to go there more often! Kade was excited to find a lot of shark books. His love for sharks has only grown as he's gotten older. He's so excited to watch a lot of shark shows this week!

Little Momma

We made it safely home yesterday! The kids did a great job in the car. It was nice to take it easy this morning and it's nice to be home. Tenley is such a big helper with Luke! It is so nice.
This afternoon the kids wanted to go to the library, but when we got there it was closed. We were all pretty sad about it so we went and got ice cream cones instead! I think that made up for it.

Boating

I think the greatest thing about vacation is being away from the distractions of home. Even though our weekend was so busy, it was also so refreshing. It was so good to catch up with family that we don't get to see very often, and to have our days filled with such fun activities. The boys went golfing this morning, we had lunch at another park, our little family stopped by the cemetery to see June (one of the most peaceful parts of the trip. I love talking with the kids about the plan of salvation in that setting. They were very interested in all Brad and I had to say. It was a special moment.), and we ended the day at the lake boating.
Kade and Tenley spent the whole night on the boat tubing and knee boarding. I spent most of the time on the beach with Ryder and Luke. For some reason Ryder was not interested in getting on the boat. So Ryder and I played in the water on the beach. I collected rocks for him and he threw them back in the water. He also loved sitting by Grandpa and Grandma Judy and just hanging out with them.
I did get a chance to get out on the boat and wake board. It was so much fun and such a beautiful evening!
