Afternoons with Kade

I used to look forward to spending my afternoons quietly by myself, playing the piano, reading a book, or taking a nap, but lately I've loved spending them acting like a kid again.
Kade has been dropping his afternoon naps, although occasionally we will just take a nap together, but normally he loves to play. Today we enjoyed the gorgeous weather outside in our backyard on the tramp.
We raced cars back and forth and then the cars fought in the air. Then we drove the cars around to the bakery to eat some cake and donuts. After that we went fishing and caught great big giant fish! Kade even caught a snake which wouldn't stop trying to bite me. And then we were pirates digging for treasure. Kade found a big treasure chest filled with gold coins.
And then Tenley woke up and we went for a walk.

I'm so grateful for our simple backyard that we are able to have so much fun in!
I'm so grateful for a trampoline that makes Kade so happy to play on.
I'm so grateful for Kade's creativity. He came up with those games all by himself!
Mainly, I'm just so grateful for Kade! He is turning into such a big boy! Every day he does more and more things on his own and it is such a huge help to me. He loves to help me with whatever I'm doing; cleaning, cooking, taking care of Tenley. He is always so willing to run and get a diaper for me when I need it for Tenley. He often will sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to Tenley when she is crying to help make her happy. He loves to read books to us and he especially loves to get us to play games with him.
I love it when I see him give Tenley a big hug and kiss and say "Awww, I love the Tenley miss!" I love his happy, positive, willing attitude and his simple reminders to me whenever I'm starting to get upset. He just says, "Mom, are you getting frustrated?" He can always tell, and it helps remind me to be more patient and loving and kind and helpful.
Our life is so great with our big boy Kade in it! I love him so much!
