Today in Sacrament Meeting the Primary Children went up on the stand to sing a song about the pioneers. I had forgotten all week to practice with Kade and prep him about going up on the stand all by himself. Luckily when we remembered about the song Brad had about 20 minutes to talk to Kade about it and get him excited about doing it.
When it was time, Kade walked up on the stand, stood with all the primary children, smiled, sang the songs, and then came back down to sit with us. I was so proud of him! He looked so handsome up there. I can't believe how much he has grown and how capable he is of doing things without my help. It makes me a little sad to see him grow up so fast. I love my little man Kade so much!
Tonight Brad had to leave to go home teaching so since the kids have been having so many boy parties with Brad while I've been gone last week, I tried to have a fun mommy party with them tonight. We ate a lot of m&ms, jumped on the couch, and danced to Taylor Swift's song 22 over and over again. I had a blast, but when I asked Kade what he liked better, boy parties or mommy parties he said "boy parties...and mommy parties!" I'll have to try harder next time...
Every night for the last little while after I've put Tenley in bed, Kade and I have snuggled and talked about how his day was and what his favorite thing he did that day was. It has been fun for me to talk to him one on one like that and learn more about what he likes and doesn't like. I appreciate those moments with him most out of the day. I don't want him to ever outgrow wanting to have those conversations with me!
Today his favorite thing was singing with his primary in church!
