Friday

A huge windstorm is headed to our town and we were worried that the ski hill would be way too windy for our little Luke so I stayed home with him and Ryder. The big kids and Brad ended up having a great ski day. It wasn’t windy (the storm came later than expected) and the hill was pretty empty. Tenley went on two black diamond runs today. It’s amazing how much progress she makes each time she goes! I was bummed to miss out on such a great day but my boys and I got some errands done, made cookies, danced to good music, and played hide n seek. It was a good day.

Field Trips to the Ski Hill

Kade got to go skiing for school today! He had a blast skiing with his friends. He even got to stay later than his classmates and skied with his friend and his friends Dad until closing. He loves skiing!

Quiet Nights

Our nights have been busy this week but we didn’t have any commitments tonight so we finally had our movie party. It’s so nice to have quiet mice like that as a family.

When Brad came home for lunch Ryder and Luke were wrestling Keena like crazy. Keena is so patient with them. I’m glad Ryder has a wrestling buddy!

Mild January Weather

We have such mild weather lately and we are loving it. It’s been the best January here since we moved here 2 and a half years ago. I hope this is the new normal! Luke always gets the biggest grin on his face when he’s outside. And then he always pitches a fit when he has to come back inside. Luckily we’ve had a lot more outside time lately!

My Little Author

Tenley is a very artistic girl. Lately she has come up with a few of her own books. They are so fun and creative! At school her teacher helped her tote out her store, Tenley illustrated the pages, and the got the pages bound in a book. I have to admit it kind of brought me to tears when I saw it for the first time today. It is amazing. She is amazing. I love her and her desire to create!

A Happy Life

Brad continued to spoil me today. He made my favorite dinner of Thai lettuce wraps. It’s a labor intensive meal and I really appreciated his efforts! They were delicious.

We had a pretty good Sunday. It was sunny and warm so Brad took the kids and the dog for a walk while Luke napped. After Luke’s nap I got lots of sweet cuddles. He’s a sweetheart.

We are huge sports fans here so to hear of Kobe Bryant’s tragic death was sad. It brought back a lot of awful feelings of the time when we lost our nephew Hayden in a similar way. Life is short and you never know when it may end. Live life fully! Appreciate each day and go for your dreams. ❤️

Birthday Dates

Brad continues to spoil me for my birthday! Tonight he took me on a date to a yummy steak restaurant and out to a movie. We had a lot of fun together.

Birthday Weeks

As a belated birthday present we all went skiing as a family today. It felt like spring skiing with the sunshine and warm temperatures which was great for Ryder and Luke. Luke didn’t mind being outside at all. When we got there a group of school kids had just arrived and they really crowded the bunny hill. Ryder went down a few times and then decided he’d rather hang out inside until they were done because he didn’t have enough space to go fast. Haha. So we played a lot of card games for a few hours until they all left. I convinced Ryder to go on a lift with me. He was having a blast at first but then he had some really hard falls and he was happy to go back to the bunny hill. I was proud of him for trying at least!
Kade and Tenley took me on some harder runs and I’m actually improving a little bit! My kids are tough to keep up with but I’m getting a little bit better. Kade and Tenley have a blast skiing all over the mountain with their dad. I love hearing their fun stories after their runs. Tenley did a new run through the trees and she loved it.
After the school kids left it felt like we had the hill to ourselves! It was so much fun.
We had birthday cake tonight when we got home. It’s been a great week.

Fresh Air

Luke and I got out to enjoy some fresh air today. It was just for a little bit but he was in heaven. He was so happy to be outside. I’m sure there will be more cold days ahead so we’re trying to take the time to enjoy these mild days!

Walking the Dog

It’s been so nice to have temperatures over 40 degrees here. I was even able to take Keen for a walk this afternoon and the fresh air felt amazing.
Ryder had a little fun with Keena tonight and decided he would try to ride him. But he refused to do it without a helmet because he didn’t want to break his head! Haha. It was a fun attempt, but I don’t think Keena wants to give rides.

Thoughtful People

I celebrated my 35th birthday today! I’m not sure exactly when getting older and having birthdays became less exciting, but I think I’m to that point. Mainly because it’s a realization of how quickly life passes. But my family and friends definitely took care of me today and made me feel extra special. I’m so blessed. I’m so grateful for the life I’ve had so far and hope to enjoy many more years!

Bowling

The kids had the day off from school and a piano party at the bowling alley! Ryder got to bowl as well and they had a lot of fun. Then tonight Kade had his first basketball game. He played well and likes his team. It was a fun activity to watch him play for family night.

Primary

Brad and spoke in church today. We were busy most of the weekend getting prepared and it felt good to be able to share the things we had studied. And to be done with the talks! We also taught primary and I love our class so much! The kids are so cute. Being in primary is the best!

Playmates

Today should hopefully be the last ridiculously cold day for a while. It should warm up by thirty degrees tomorrow! We’re excited. Kade and Ryder had friends over most of the day which helped the day go by quickly for them all. They had a blast and Brad and I were able to spend time on getting our talks written for church tomorrow. 😬
