Friendly Strangers

We had to run an errand at the post office today. I try really hard to avoid the post office in December because it gets busy! But the office needed postcard stamps so it had to be done. We made the stop right before picking up the kids from school so our schedule was tight but as I loaded my two kids in the car after we finished, I knew we had a few minutes to spare. Then right before I got in my seat an older man drove up and stopped right behind us. He commented on what a fun age my boys were at. He asked how far apart they were and then I learned about his kids and then we started talking about all the places we’ve lived. It turns out he lived in Indianapolis at one point as well. He thanked me for chatting with him and then he drove on his way. It’s always nice to meet someone new. And we still made it on time for school pick up!
