General Conference weekend is so wonderful and I'm excited it's finally here! We did have a few things going on this morning. Brad took Kade and Ryder to Kade's football game and Tenley, Luke, and I went to a piano 'Sight reading Saturday' thing with a lot of other students. Kade got to play quarterback for a whole quarter and loved it. He got a first down with a QB sneak and was pretty excited. Brad got the whole thing on video for me which I was so grateful for.
Tenley did a great job learning to sight read and playing all sorts of instruments with her group. I love all the good musical exposure she is getting. The kids have the best teacher! I'm sad that Kade missed out.
When we all got back home we caught up on Conference and heard the new announcement that church will be switching to be more home centered and church supported and that we'll have two hour church meetings on Sunday now instead of three. It sounds pretty neat and exciting! I'll miss being with the young women every Sunday, but I'll sure love the extra time with my kids and I'm looking forward to learning more about the new resource Come Follow Me for individuals and families. I'm not sure our kids will notice much of a difference, but we'll see. When they're my age this will just be another way for them to acknowledge how old I really am when they realize that when I was growing up in the church I went to three hours of church instead of just two!
The women's meeting was wonderful. It was a little strange not to be sending Brad off to priesthood meeting. But I really enjoyed all of the talks and I'm excited to follow through on President Nelson's invitations. Especially the fast from social media. These past few days without the internet have kept me off social media and it has been so nice. I'm ready to do it for 10 more!
Thankfully, though, the internet did come back on in the city. It would have been a stressful Monday at work for Brad if it was still broken!
