Family Gift Exchange

The Simmons had us for Christmas this year and since they are heading off for a cruise soon we video chatted with them tonight and opened our presents! They spoiled us and got us some pretty awesome gifts. We got a beautiful watercolor picture of our family sketched and painted by Heidi's very talented niece. I love it! The kids got a light bright that they started playing with right away. And then Brad got a few sentimental gifts. The first was a 'Family Dog House' sign that his Dad's family had at their Sun Valley cabin growing up. Now Brad has one for his own family!
But the best gift may have been the Teddy Ruxpin! When Brad was a young boy all he wanted for Christmas was a Teddy Ruxpin. This year he was extra curious and went looking to see what his Mom had bought him for Christmas in her closet. And he found the Teddy Ruxpin! He must have been so excited about it that he accidentally let it slip that he had seen it. His Mom was not happy about that and ended up giving the Teddy Ruxpin to Brad's little brother Kyle instead. Brad was devastated and he never got a Teddy Ruxpin. We use this story a lot to scare the kids away from searching for presents so we all laughed really hard when Brad opened up a Teddy Ruxpin! It was hilarious. And the kids, especially Ryder, really love the toy!
