So I'm going to get a little bit personal today. This blog has becoming more of a journal to me sometimes and I keep it so that my family and I will have a memory and record of our lives, so sometimes what I write might not be that interesting for anyone else to read, but I want to record it anyway.
I had such an amazingly spiritual day at church today. The talks in sacrament meeting were so touching and uplifting and Relief Society was even more so.
We start off our Relief Society meetings with a chance for everyone to share some "good news." Then we also have the opportunity to share any "missionary moments" that we've had over the week. Normally a lot of people are willing to share their good news, but we get one or usually none sharing a missionary moment. Today was different.
Around 5 people shared a missionary moment and they were all so inspirational! Not only that, but there were a few investigators in the meeting and two inactive sisters. The spirit was felt so strongly.
The sister that gave the lesson had prepared so well and even though I know she feels inadequate as a teacher, her lessons are so good. She does such a good job at inviting the spirit and leading discussion. I'm so impressed with her and I'm so grateful for her example.
To close the meeting we sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee." I was disappointed that I didn't have a hymn book near me to share with the inactive sister that I was sitting by, but I quickly learned that she didn't need it. She sang the hymn from memory. I couldn't help but cry through the whole song. I tend to do that sometimes...
I'm grateful for those new faces that we had today in Relief Society and the spirit that they brought. I'm so grateful for all the examples around me of everyday missionaries.
