Kade is home from the hospital!
He had a good night and they were able to lengthen out his breathing treatments so we were finally able to be discharged.
Before we left I was able to go to an asthma education class. It was nice to be able to learn more about asthma, what can cause Kade's attacks, how to prevent it, and what to do when it is still bad after I've done everything that I can do. I feel more comfortable and confident in being able to handle this from here on out.
It is still hard to admit that my son has this chronic illness that will continually affect him and probably cause him more trips to the hospital. When I let myself dwell on the sad reality of it I can't stop crying. So I'm trying to stay positive and be grateful for all the wonderful advances and medications in the medical industry that make it possible for Kade to cope with the asthma as good as possible.
But it's still hard. And it still totally stinks.
Kade was so excited to come home.
He kept telling me all last night and today how the hospital is no fun and he wants to go home.
The kids fell asleep in the car on the way home and the kids and I took a 3 hour nap at home. We feel much more refreshed!
And then our sweet friend Becca brought us dinner (which was so yummy!), our neighbors Kenny and Brenda brought a card and some toys over for the kids, and our Bishop's wife, Trina, stopped by with some toys for the kids too.
Once again we are so grateful for the people in our lives and the love they show us.
Leaving the hospital with a wagon ride and a look at the cool glass elevators! |
Kade's Favorite part of the day: Going Home (I just about lost it when he told me this tonight.)
