Slow Motion
I was getting some pictures off Brad's phone today and noticed some videos he had taken of the kids jumping off our bed onto the bean bag. Of course they would have been doing something like that while I wasn't around! But it was still fun to see the videos in slow motion of them. It looked like they were having a blast!

Kade's Night
Tonight was Kade's turn to plan family night and he was so excited to do it! Yesterday while Kade was watching the Mormon channel for kids he found a great video that he wanted to share for his lesson about a boy with a shiny bicycle who later wishes he had a red bicycle like all of his friends. Kade taught us that we shouldn't get jealous over things that others have that we don't and that we should appreciate what we have. I didn't have to prompt him or anything. He taught us all by himself and he did an amazing job!
He chose Pizza Hut for dinner, a special deal he had seen a commercial for that came with a chocolate chip cookie pizza, and we watched The Land Before Time. Kade does a great job planning family night!
Sunday Cuddles
We used to go to church at the 1 pm but with the new year, our new church time is at 9 am. It's a drastic change but we all enjoyed a long afternoon of cuddles today.

Sweet Boy Kade
Yesterday at school Kade's table was so good that they each got to choose a prize out of a box at the end of the day. Kade saw a Hello Kitty picture and decided to choose that to give to Tenley because he knew she'd love it! I was so impressed with how thoughtful he was and that he was willing to forgo a prize for himself. He is such a sweetheart!

Date Night
Brad took me on a date tonight and it was so much fun. We tried a new restaurant, Thai food, and loved it! And we finally saw Star Wars! We've had fun catching up on the movies the past few months so it was fun to see the new one together. I love this man of mine so much, even if he does hate taking selfies with me.

Kids
Tenley is feeling a little bit better today, thankfully. She wanted to paint her nails and get in her Sleeping Beauty dress for princess preschool even. I never know when she'll be in such a girly mood because she usually isn't. But it sure is fun when she is!
And I found it funny tonight as I bathed my kids realizing that they use my awesome nice jetted soaker tub more than I do. That doesn't seem right... And one of their favorite things to do at night is watch t.v. In bed with Brad and me. They kind of take over our life, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Legacies
Legacy: anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor.
Today I've been feeling as though life is all about your legacy. What you do everyday affects not only your future but the future of your children, your family, and your friends. And when you're gone all anyone will have to remember you by is your legacy. I've asked myself a lot today, "What kind of a legacy am I leaving?" Maybe it's kind of a sad thought but as we celebrate my mother in law's birthday today I'm reminded of the amazing legacy she left. She was a great homemaker! I spent the bulk of the day in the kitchen making homemade ice cream, homemade bread, and homemade soup, all things that remind me of her. I spent some time doing family history work, something that she was very passionate about. She was such a good woman and the good life she led made her children, her grandchildren, and everyone who knew her a better person. I feel honored to be a part of her legacy and to have been inspired by her to create a worthwhile legacy of my own.

New Toys, Tenley
Kade has been flying his new helicopter around a lot lately. He just got it from his Uncle Travis and Aunt Calli and he loves it! And he's been getting a lot better at it too. Tenley hasn't been having as much fun today though. She's been pretty sick. Her nose is runny, she says her ears hurt, and I'm pretty sure she has pink eye too. But she's such a trooper through it all. Even though she couldn't breathe through her nose she slept soundly all night with her mouth open. And she hasn't complained either. Her Minnie Mouse blanket and new episodes of strawberry shortcake on Netflix are keeping her pretty content. I'm just so impressed with the way she handles being sick. She's always been one to never complain no matter how yucky she feels. She's such a sweetheart.

I love getting everyone's photos after a reunion and seeing the moments that other people captured! Such fun memories.

Safety
We made it home safely today and I'm so grateful for that! It was a long drive but we really enjoyed being there!
Tenley and Kade were excited to see their toys again and it seemed like Ryder was really excited to sleep in his bed!

Sleepy Heads
It's been a fun, but exhausting week and we haven't even made it home yet. The kids are sleeping and I'm excited to join them after this entry. We've created so many fun memories these last several days that will hopefully serve as good dreams for the next several months. We are lucky to have such a great family!

Wonderful Days
Today was a lot of fun. Kade was the first one awake so we enjoyed the beautiful sunrise together. It is really pretty here! Then after he ate breakfast, Kade was the first one outside to play in the snow! Brad and I quickly followed. Tenley didn't feel like playing in the snow today so she played with her bestie girl cousins inside. I had fun racing Kade down and up the hill. It was great exercise. Then Brad convinced me to ski behind the snowmobile, or go hooky bobbin' as he called it. It was a lot like waterskiing and I had a blast. If my leg muscles were stronger I would have been out there longer! Then some of the cousins decided to get in the hot tub and they started a trend. Little by little almost all of the grandkids ended up in the hot tub. Uncle Chad even convinced a few to roll in the snow in their swim suits. We've had a great time here with family and will be sad to leave!
