A crazy windstorm came through last night and after Brad headed to the church this morning for meetings he sent me a text that said, “We lost the tree.” Oh my word that tree was so much work and the kids were so sad to see that it couldn’t withstand the wind. It bent it right in the middle! There were tears and lots of disappointment. But they’re all thinking of ways to pivot and make something out of the mess we’re left with. I’m sure they’ll come up with something. I was just so grateful to see that after their sadness they found a way to laugh about it and are now trying to get creative and make the best of the situation. It’s a good life lesson for sure. Sometimes our hard work and efforts fail and become an utter disaster. You have to find a way to laugh, keep your head up, and keep moving forward.
