Zion National Park

We woke up pretty early so we could get to Zion this morning around 10. It was a longer drive than we realized but it was beautiful. When we pulled into Zion we found out it was really crowded! If our kids could have handled it we should have been there right when it opened. We tried to find parking at the Visitors Center for over 20 minutes. But we finally got lucky and timed it well enough to find a spot.

We took the shuttle all the way up the canyon and that drive was gorgeous! I hadn’t ever been up to the last stop in the canyon so it was fun to see a different side of Angels Landing. We hiked the Riverside Walk up to the beginning of the Narrows. The trail was busy but we found a nice quiet spot for a picnic. Then we came back down the canyon to hike to the Lower Emerald Pool and enjoy laying on the grass in front of the lodge. We decided to do one last hike which was the Canyon Overlook trail. We drove up the canyon and through the long tunnel and luckily found a spot to park near the beginning of the trail. The kids were hot and tired by this point but this ended up being their favorite hike. It had a lot of obstacles which made it fun for Ryder. The view was incredible. It was definitely hot though! I think it reached 97 degrees there today. On our way back we stopped in Cedar City for dinner because the restaurants in Springdale and Zion were so crowded! It’s such a popular place. But I’m so glad we spent the day there with the kids showing them one of my favorite National parks.
