Family Recitals

When we left town last weekend we missed Kade and Tenley’s Holiday piano recital so I set up a time for them to play at a care center today. Kade played, Tenley and I played some duets, and then I played a few songs as well. I loved it.
I wasn't expecting an audience, but when we showed up there was a room full of people waiting for us. I think it intimated my kids a little. Kade sat down to play "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" but I had left his book open to "The First Noel" because I thought he was going to play that first. Instead of stopping and turning his book to the right song he just plugged along trying to do it from memory. And he did pretty well! I was impressed with his professionalism. The elderly at the care center were so sweet. Caroling and playing the piano at care centers is definitely one of the highlights of the Christmas season for me. It will be a tradition that we will keep for years to come!

On our way home we stopped at Walmart to buy just a few more things I need for our Christmas feast next week. It's probably not a good idea to go to Walmart on the Saturday before Christmas, but we survived! We also took the kids out bowling tonight. Ryder was in heaven! He loves bowling and he is adorable as are all my children!
