Sunset

Sunrise and Sunset are my favorite times of the day and this fall weather has been giving us some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We had a few of Kade’s friends over for dinner tonight. Man those boys can eat! After they left we went on a family walk while the sun set. I love the fall! And I’m so glad we get to enjoy the nice weather this year.

Luke’s First Prayer

At dinner tonight I asked Luke to say the prayer. I’ve asked him before but he’s been silent every time I give him words to repeat. But tonight he said yes and he repeated everything so well. It was precious.

Catch

Kade had another football game tonight and I was smart enough this time to bring a few footballs for my other kids to play with. Luke was having a blast playing catch with Brad and I was having a blast taking pictures of Luke. He closes his eyes and flinches every time the ball comes toward him. It was hilarious and so adorable.

Fall

We have been enjoying this beautiful fall weather! Last year around this time we had a snow storm so sunny 70 degree weather is incredible! After church this morning we went on a walk along the river and found some geo-caches along the way. The kids loved it and want to hide one of their own.

Flag Football

Flag football season has begun! I’m so happy that Kade is able to play some sports. Beside the 40 mph wind gusts this morning it was the perfect weather to watch football in. Kade did well and is on a great team! It will be a good season.

Kade was also able to go to a birthday party tonight. He’s been making some really great friends with his homeschool group.

Parades

The Christian school that Tenley and Ryder attend once a week had a parade today for homecoming. It was fun to attend and Tenley and Ryder loved being in the float! They even passed out candy! It felt like pre-coronial times and it was so nice. The fall colors were beautiful as well.

Popcorn

After school this morning the kids and I went to Old Navy for some clothes that the kids are in need of. We found some good things and we found the cutest baby Yoda shirt for Luke. He wanted to change into it right away!
Brad had another meeting tonight so the kids and I watched a movie together. Luke cuddled with me for the first hour. He can be such a sweet cuddle bug. After Brad’s meeting he made us all popcorn. We needed some extra food because the dinner I made tonight was a fail. I was trying to use up all of our garden tomatoes so I made tomato soup. It didn’t turn out well. So popcorn for dinner it is!

Beautiful Drives

I don’t know how today went by without me taking one picture! I guess it was because Kade, Tenley and Ryder were all at their homeschool group. Luke and I had fun driving Kade out to his friends house. They live out in the country and the whole drive there we were right by the river. It was beautiful. Then Luke and I went shopping at TJ Max. It’s been a long time since I’ve been there! We had fun. The kids had a blast at school and are preparing a float for the homecoming parade on Friday. They’re excited!

Homeschooling

Life feels chaotic right now as I try to navigate homeschooling along with my other responsibilities and interests. It can be hard and stressful but I know it’s just an adjustment and in time we’ll get in a groove. As I sit here in a quiet house I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way right now. I love teaching my kids. I love seeing them grow closer to each other. I love them hearing them laugh and play games together. I love that Kade and Tenley like to take turns putting Luke down for a nap and that we’re all home to have lunch with Brad. I love our flexible schedule and the Friday adventures we get to have free from the demands of a school schedule. This is good for us right now. I may have to sacrifice other things for the moment, but this is good for us.

Lions Park

Aww Monday. You can be so amazing and yet so hard. Today was a hard Monday. It may be because we had Danny here over the weekend and were in party mode but it was so tough to get back in the swing of things. I slept through my alarm which never happens on accident and because of that nothing happened on time. But we got through it and met friends at the park this afternoon which makes everything better!

Danny

We had such a nice visit with Danny this weekend! The kids loved having him here. He left this morning and it was sad to see him go.

After lunch Kade was looking up a recipe for Italian Sodas. It made Brad laugh because apparently the kids have gotten tired of asking Brad to make them so they were just going to make them on their own. Brad ended up making them for all of us and they were delicious.

Keena

We all slept in this morning because of our late night last night. I think even Danny slept in later than he normally does. Brad made eggs for breakfast and I ran and got some donuts. Unfortunately the yummy donut shop didn’t have any of our favorite donuts so we had to settle for grocery store donuts.
It was also Keena’s birthday today. He is two now! We got him a new toy and spoiled him with extra food.
Brad delivered Dan’s crown this afternoon and it al seemed to go well. After Luke’s nap we went for a walk along the river. It got dark really fast but we still enjoyed Giant Springs with some daylight. Kade made his favorite chocolate Oreo shakes for Dan before bed. It was a slow day but we all enjoyed the change of pace.

Glacier National Park

We took Dan up to Glacier today and even though most of the beautiful scenery is covered by the smoke from the fires burning in different states around us, we still had a nice trip.
Our first stop was at Lake McDonald for lunch and ice cream. Then we drove to Logan Pass and hiked to Hidden Lake. We also hiked a little bit of the Highline trail since we were up there. Then we headed back down to Trail of the Cedars. It wasn’t too crowded so even without any of the shuttles running due to COVID we always found a parking spot.
We left and got dinner in Kalispell and made it home at 11:30. It was a long day but we all enjoyed it! I’m thankful that Brad got us home safely!
