After saying our goodbyes, we headed to Las Vegas for a quick stay in order to catch an early flight this morning. We relaxed at our hotel for a bit and enjoyed having dinner in before we headed out to show the kids some of our favorite things about Vegas. They loved the M&M factory and the fountain show at the Bellagio. Tenley also loved the Bellagio garden.
We ended up keeping the kids up later than we had planned and they were only able to get about 5 hours of sleep before our early flight! Kade and Ryder did pretty well. Especially Kade! He was so helpful carrying around his luggage AND Ryder's luggage. He got very skilled at getting on the escalators with 2 luggage bags in tow. He impressed many people! It would have been much harder without Kade's help.
Tenley had a tougher time with the lack of sleep. She was extremely tired and nauseous all day. She threw up in the shuttle and on both flights and ended up sleeping a total of 6 hours during the day. I felt awful for her. No more early morning travels!
But through it all people around us were so kind. The lady Tenley about threw up on during the shuttle ride gave us a lot of her napkins to help clean it up. My drivers license fell out of my pocket somehow without me realizing and someone chased after me to return it. When I tried to be as skilled as Kade on the escalators with two luggage bags I got stuck and about fell, but the couple behind me caught me and the bags! Our flight was overbooked and they were going to bump one of us. Kade was not at all happy with the idea of us being split up, but a nice man ended up offering to be bumped to another flight so we didn't have to get split up. That was so lucky.
Another fun part of the day was running into Brad's sister Lesa and her husband Chad at the airport in Salt Lake City! They were on their way home from Boston and we were able to chat with them for about 20 minutes before our flight left.
Once we got home we were all able to take good long naps to catch up on the sleep we lost this morning. Tenley is feeling much better as well! It's good to be home and back to a routine, but I'm already missing sunny St. George and my wonderful family!
