The weather was perfect today with no wind! We went for a walk this evening and it was gorgeous. I’m grateful to have the sun shining again. The kids also posed for a picture for me after church and we made them watch Saturday’s Warrior with us. That’s such a classic movie! Brad and I remembered all the lyrics to the songs. Haha

Awesome Youth Leaders
More pictures from Kade’s camping trip! He said he had a great time. It’s good to have him back! I’m so grateful for the leaders who were willing to camp up there and spend time away from their families and with the boys and cook yummy meals for them and take care of them. Even in the rain they made it fun!

Bonfires
Brad left early this morning to meet up with the young men for a hike. They had planned a 10 mile hike to a downed military plane but Brad found out that he has a patient with property close to the plane and they got permission to start the hike from there so it was only 4 miles. It was still really steep and hard AND it was windy and rainy as well! It was hard! 7 of the 17 boys had to turn back because it was too hard and too cold. Brad and Kade made it and they said the plane was pretty cool. They were all soaked to the bone though and Brad didn’t have a change of clothes so he came home real quick for a shower and warm clothes. And then he headed out the door again to be with the boys for the night. They were able to have clear skies at night with a bonfire so they’re all warm and happy now! What an adventure! I can’t wait to hear all of Kade’s stories tomorrow.

Toothless
Luke has been wiggling one of his baby teeth for a while now. Yesterday he said it was hard to eat with it. Today he finally asked Brad to pull it for him. So after his soccer game we drove over to Brad’s office and he pulled it out really quickly! Luke said he couldn’t feel a thing!
Ry and Luke both had soccer games tonight. It was so cold! The sun was shining but the wind was blowing like crazy and it was cold. I’m not a very tough Montana! Haha. The kids did great at their games though. Luke scored four goals! And passed it to his teammates and had some great blocks. Ryder played so hard as well. He’s speedy!

Strawberries
Kade is off on another campout! He has a busy summer ahead of him. He didn’t leave until after dinner though at least so we hung out with him most of the day. He took Ryder on a bike ride because Ryder has been begging him to and played games with the kids as well. He can be a sweet big brother! The boys also discovered some ripe strawberries in our garden patch and they’ve been enjoying those. I love it when our strawberries and raspberries are ripe!

Days at the Pool
We spent the day at the pool. Kade was able to bring a friend along but the rest of the kids were stuck with each other! It was nice and relaxing and we all enjoyed the sunshine and the refreshing water. We had to hurry home though to get to Ryder’s soccer game. He played great tonight! He scored a goal and had an assist! It was fun to watch him play.

Swimming Lessons
Three weeks ago I finally got Ryder and Luke into private swim lessons. Their swim instructor is amazing! She is so good with my boys and they have come so far! Ryder can free stroke already and he’ll start learning backstroke next week. I’m so grateful we found a great teacher for them!
After lessons Ryder got to hang out with some friends for a birthday party. All this time with friends this summer has been so amazing! We love it!

The Plan of Love
We had a great lesson about the plan of salvation today in relief society. Our sweet teacher put up the segments of the plan and it spelled out LOVE. It was really sweet to see. It really is a plan of love! We are all really here because God loves us and wants more for us and this is our opportunity to choose to have that.
We got to have dessert with friends tonight and she made the most delicious strawberry shortcake that I’ve ever had! I’m craving it now! Haha. But our kids had such a great time and so did we.

Hauser Lake
We decided to boat on Hauser lake today hoping it was less crowded than Holter usually is on Saturday. It may have been less crowded but it was still very crowded! We enjoyed it though and Kade even tried out surfing! He got up pretty quickly and did well!

Bikes and Hikes
The weather wasn’t quite nice enough for a boating day so we asked the kids what they’d like to do instead. Half of them wanted to go on a bike ride and the other half wanted to go on a hike so we decided to do both!
We went for a short bike ride this morning on a part of the trail we hadn’t been on before. It had some steep hills! But there was a great view at the top. We haven’t been in a bike ride in a while so it was really nice.
We came home for lunch and then drove to Augusta to hike to Devil’s Glen. I think it may be my favorite hike in Montana that isn’t in Glacier. We didn’t see one person the whole three hours we were hiking! It was so beautiful and the weather was perfect. Even though Luke was the one begging for a hike he was really tired at the end but it was still his favorite part of the day.

Luke’s Soccer Skills
Kade made it home this afternoon! Luke was so excited! We all were. He had such a great time. It was cold but he still enjoyed it a lot. I’m so glad he got to go.
He made it home just in time to mow the lawn! Haha. And then he came with us to Luke and Ryder’s soccer games. Which was worth it. The games were so entertaining. Ryder did a great job and almost scored a goal! Luke played hard! He scored four goals by half time. I told the other kids that if he made 5 goals I’d make muddy buddies for dessert. And if he made 6 I’d take them out for dinner as well. I honestly didn’t think he’d score 6 goals but he actually scored 7! It was crazy! He’s a great player but he probably should pass the ball to his teammates more! 😂

Kids
Have I mentioned yet how much I’m missing Kade? He gets home tomorrow and I can’t wait to see him and hear all about his camp! But I’m so grateful for Tenley, Ryder, and Luke who keep life busy for me. Tenley had a friend over today and they had lots of fun together. Ry and Luke played in the sprinklers and then Luke hung out with me during Ryder’s soccer practice. He’s such a fun little guy! He loved exploring and practicing his kart wheels!
