New Clothes, Playing Catch

While we were in Boise Tenley's cousin Elly gave her a lot of her old clothes. Tenley's been loving having new things to wear every day and it's definitely filled up her closet! We're so grateful for all the cute new dresses and fun clothes!

This afternoon the kids and I played catch outside and Kade and I tried to teach Tenley how to hit. It was a lot of fun!

McCall

We drove home from Boise today but stopped for a while in McCall to check on Brad's Dad's cabin, have lunch, and enjoy the pretty lake. I love being able to make a long stop in McCall. It's such a pretty little town and everyone is so friendly there! The kids loved being able to play for a bit by the lake too. And now it's nice to be home and not have anywhere to go...for a few weeks. 😉

Cousins

The kids have loved being with cousins! They got to go to primary with them at church today and that made it lots of fun. We played all night at Bryan and Amy's after church. It was fun to watch the kids run around outside together and play football and frisbee. I even tried to race my 10 year old nephew Ty in a foot race and he beat me! I need to work on getting faster. The kids stayed up really late tonight and had ice cream at 10:30 with their cousins, but it's all about making memories, right?!
The kids trying to copy Ryder's crazy scoot/crawl. 😂

Remembering

Every Memorial Day holiday weekend Brad's uncles have a get together to remember their parents who have passed on. It's also become a holiday for us to remember Brad's mom and many others we love whom have passed away. We came to Boise this weekend to be here for the Hobson reunion and go to the grave sites. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to reconnect with many people we haven't seen in a while.

It seems as though I don't really know a person or realize all the good that they do until they have passed away. It's a sad reality. So pausing to truly remember those we love and the good lives they tried to lead gives me good perspective for my own life.

"Loosen" Teeth

Tenley has had a really loose tooth for a while now that she keeps referring to as her "loosen" tooth. Brad and I finally convinced her to go into Brad's office to get it pulled yesterday. She was so brave and she even helped as Brad's assistant! She was so excited for the tooth fairy to come! I can't believe how big she is getting!

Kade

Kade is almost done with kindergarten! I'm so proud of him and the progress he has made this last year.
A few weeks ago another little boy was playing with scissors and tried to cut Kade's ear. Luckily it wasn't anything serious and Kade was very forgiving. The teacher and I talked to Kade about this boy. He comes from a very hard family situation and has had to deal with a lot in his short life. He is sometimes left wanting for food. Kade decided he'd like to take him some food to school the next day. I packed him a bag of food and when I picked him up from school later that day he said he had given it to the boy and the boy was very grateful.
I was so impressed by Kade and how quickly he forgave and how willing he was to help someone who had been mean to him. What an example of Christlike love he is to me! I'm so lucky to be his mom!

Tea Party Sets

Becca was nice enough to give Tenley one of her old tea party sets from when she was a little girl. It's fragile and so little and Tenley loves it! She takes very good care of it. Becca taught her how to play with it and where to put the cream and sugar and Tenley has been playing with it a lot. It's such a sweet gift! We loved having them here to visit and are excited to see them more often.

Friends

It has been so much fun catching up with our friends the Woolfs. Our kids all get along great and it doesn't even feel like we've been separated for a whole year. The babies Ty and Ryder are like team mates in the sport of destroying. It was so funny to watch them play in the dishwasher together and get into all the kitchen cupboards with each other.
Becca was so nice and gave Tenley one of her tea sets that she had when she was a little girl. They played with it together and served everyone chocolate milk with extra cream and sugar.
Kade and Jax played non stop either outside or inside with their transformers.
Then we took all the kids swimming and had a blast there! All the kids love the water. Ryder was very curious as always and had fun jumping in with the big kids. Dinner was yummy and we adults stayed up late playing aggravation. We've played that with the Woolfs many times before, always boys vs. girls. The boys won two games tonight but we'll get them next time!

The Woolfs

Our good friends from Indiana are here visiting! We've all been looking forward to this for a while now and it's fun to finally have them here! I've loved catching up and watching the kids giggle and play together. It will be a fun couple of days!

Downtown Chicago, Segway Tours

Today was a lot of fun! We met everyone in downtown Chicago for lunch at the Shake Shak and then went to the top of that building to see a really great view of Millenium Park. We walked over to see the bean and then we were able to go on a Segway tour. Brad and I had never rode segways before and we loved it! It was a great way to see a lot of the city. Then we walked the magnificent mile and had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. So yummy! Chicago is a really fun city.
