Fresh Air

We had a big wind storm and some rain on Saturday and it got rid of all the smoke in the valley so we have been enjoying the fresh air and clear skies these last few days. It was so much fun to get out and go on a bike ride!

Hot August Nights

Every August in Lewiston they have Hot August Nights where the hot rod cars cruise around downtown and there's a concert. We took the kids downtown tonight to see the cool cars and they had fun. They were plugging their ears a lot because the cars were pretty loud but it was a fun night out!

Bishop Fishburn

This morning our Bishop from Indianapolis called just to check in and see how we're doing. I miss him and our Indiana ward so much and it was so good to hear from him. I believe that home is where the heart is and I do feel like at times that my heart hasn't fully made the trip away from Indianapolis. I still miss it and all of the friendships we had there. But it's been great to still keep in touch with people and I was impressed that our old Bishop gave us a call even though I know he's plenty busy with other things! His sweet wife still checks up on me as well. What amazing people they are!

Baking

Tenley is really into working in the kitchen. I love getting her help with dishes after dinner at night. Her favorite thing to do is bake. Since it's been so smoky outside and we've been having to stay inside as much as we would if it were winter time, we decided to do some baking today! I love the yummy peanut butter chocolate chip recipe that I got from Heidi. So delicious!

The Book of Mormon

Brad got this Book of Mormon for Latter-day Saint families several years ago from his Mom. We've been using it to study the scriptures with our kids every night and it has been such a huge help. It gives easy to understand summaries about each chapter, great definitions for uncommon words, and pictures! Our kids have really loved it and the big print makes it easier for Kade to read.  

Brad just got a new calling as the Scoutmaster for the ward, so unfortunately he wasn't home for scripture time tonight, but the kids and I read anyway. Tonight the heading we started with said "Isaiah Describes the Second Coming." As I was explaining to the kids what the second coming is they just kept asking me questions. "Where is heaven?", "How did Satan get kicked out of heaven?", "Why did Satan get kicked out of heaven?", "Will we be in heaven with Hayden?". It was an amazing moment to hear their simple questions and to be able to answer them and share my testimony with them. I love when the moments that they are eager to learn and I am eager to teach collide. It made for a great scripture study time even though we only read a few verses. I love my sweet kids and I really love reading and learning from the Book of Mormon with them.

Birthday Cake

Kade's 3rd birthday party! We had dinner at the Simmons' house after church. Kade chose ham, sweet potatoes, rolls, and fruit salad. Then we had a huge, yummy chocolate cake for dessert!

Firefighters

Idaho is on fire right now and we seem to be in the middle of it. It's no fun waking up to a forecast of smoke for the day. And it's so sad to hear stories of people's homes being burned to the ground and firefighters losing their lives trying to put out the fires. The air quality is extremely unhealthy and has kept us inside a lot. It's been hard on Kade as well and he's had a lot of asthma attacks recently. It's frustrating in a lot of ways but it's so amazing to see people come together to help everyone out. Firefighters from Alaska and New Zealand are even helping out. I'm so grateful for all the firefighters and their hard work to put these fires out!

Spokane

We went up to Spokane today with the Simmons to have fun at Jump Time, eat lunch at Red Robin, and watch Dale race his motorcycle in the Supercross. Kent's brother Craig and his wife and 3 boys live in Spokane so we met up with them as well. It was a super fun day and Kade kept referring to is as his 2nd birthday party. We walked around the cute park downtown as well. We need to go back soon to get some shopping done!

Birthday Boy

Kade turned 6 today! He was so excited to be growing up and had a lot of fun doing whatever he wanted all day! He wanted cinnamon pancakes for breakfast, McDonalds for dinner, and playtime with cousins at aunt Heidi's house. He's pretty easy to please! He loved building his new Legos with Dale and Emmett. He had a great day!

I can't believe how fast these 6 years have gone by. I'm so grateful for Kade. He is such a good boy and always tries to be a good example for tokes around him. Even me! He wants to be obedient and always tries to choose the right. He is so smart and is reading like a champ! He has an amazing memory and is so excited to start Kindergarten in a few weeks. We love our Kader Tator so much!

Library

We got to check out the new Lewiston library today. It's awesome! We're excited to spend a lot of time there.

My Big Boy Swimmer

Kade's swimming lessons ended today. He had a fun time and is a lot more confident in the water! I'm proud of his hard work!

Cousins, The Aquatic Center

We've had so much fun at the Aquatic Center this Summer with Heidi and Emmett. It's been a great thing to do during the long afternoons while Brad is working. I'm so sad Summer time is coming to an end!

Tenley's Pictures

I love looking through my phone pictures and seeing Tenley's photos. She loves to takes pictures especially of herself. Her other favorite subject is Ryder. I was surprised to see she caught a picture of me taking a nap on the couch! She is a sneaky girl!

Hard Work

We went to Donnelly for the weekend to help Brad's Dad work on his cabin. It was fun to see the kids join in on the work although they did get tired of it after a while. I love the mountains and it was so nice to have a little getaway with family in the mountains!

Summer

This is what our days have mainly consisted of this Summer and we've loved it!
