Water, Courage

Today for preschool we learned about water. We did a lot of fun water experiments involving water and I thought it was pretty ironic that as I was going to fill a bowl full of water from the sink, our water happened to not be working at that time. I guess some pipes had broken. It made me that much more grateful for running water!
Luckily I had some storage water we could use so we could still work on our experiments. I was sad that I completely forgot to take a picture of the kids working on their papers. They all loved it and were very involved. It was a fun day!

Last week we discovered a gum boil above Tenley's front tooth and have since been pretty concerned about it. Luckily today there was an opening in the Pediatric Clinic at Brad's school. Our friend Joe had an opening and Brad also had some free time to come assist with the appointment. They diagnosed it as periapical radioulucency, abscess, with external & internal resorption, calcific metamorphisis.
Basically she must have had some trauma that caused an injury to her tooth which caused an infection in it. Leaving her tooth would risk causing permanent damage to her incoming permanent tooth, so it had to be extracted.
I'm so sad that her beautiful smile looks a little different now, but am grateful that it wasn't anything more serious. I was also so impressed with how brave Tenley was! She never cried or screamed. She definitely has a lot more courage than I do and I admire her so much for it.
I also credit Brad for doing such a good job at prepping her and making her feel safe and comfortable. He is such a good Dad and will be a great dentist! No wonder Tenley is such a Daddy's girl.
When Kade saw Tenley after her appointment he said, "It's OK, I'll still call her beautiful!" What a sweetheart.
The abscess.

She was so excited to be with her Dada at his school! She loved this comfy chair!

She got some sweet sunglasses!

She loved her cool vest.

She sat so still for her x-ray.

Getting nitrous to help ease the pain.

After the appointment and all smiles!
