Hunting Drives

Brad and Kade went to check out some hunting property to prepare for hunting season today. Brad had a nice patient who is willing to share his land. They saw some huge bucks and Kade is excited to hunt!

The rest of us got cleaning and errands done. And then Kade and Tenley got to hang out with friends tonight. We’re trying not to be sad about the fact that they keep leaving us!

The River

It felt weird not to have Kade with us today since we usually head out to do something fun as a family on Friday. We couldn’t bring ourselves to boat without him so we decided to float the river instead. We somehow convinced Luke to cliff jump with Tenley. His reaction afterward was so funny! He hit his leg hard and it hurt but he still had fun.

When we finally got Kade back we took the kids out to dinner for a dinner date. I hate that our kids growing up so fast!

Morning Skies

Kade had his first day of early morning seminary this morning! It was so early that we were watching the sunrise. But it was beautiful. And he has a great and amazing seminary teacher so he really enjoyed it.

I didn’t get to see Kade until 5 pm tonight. After school he went to his first game. It was fun to watch him play keeper. He did well and had a lot of fun.

Starbase

Kade’s first day of high school went great! He found all of his classes well and he enjoyed seeing all of his friends. He went straight from school to soccer practice so I didn’t even get to see him until 4:45 tonight. But luckily he had a phone that I could text him on to see how he was doing. I can’t believe how grown up he is!

Tenley and Ryder also left the house today. They are doing the Starbase program with the military base at the airport for the next few days with other homeschoolers. They loved it. They got to choose their own call signs. Tenley is Setter and Ryder is Alpha. They’re excited to go back again tomorrow!

Luke was my cute little buddy today. It’s been a while since it was just the two of us. We ran errands, watched Bluey, and he even came to hang out with me while I got a pedicure with a friend! He’s the best buddy. He gave himself his own call sign so I need to call him Trooper now.

The Night Before School

Kade is heading back to school tomorrow and starting his freshman year of high school! He is excited and ready! Tenley and Ryder also have a Starbase program they get to go to tomorrow. So it will just be Luke and I at home! It will be a weird day tomorrow.

We had a nice night together tonight. Brad gave us all a blessing for the beginning of the school year. I feel hopeful and excited now. It should be a great year!

Rustler Round Up

Kade is done with two a day practices and is on the JV soccer team! He’s excited for this season! The high school had a welcome night and introduced the teams. He had fun there tonight. I can’t believe he’s starting high school! He seems so ready and excited!

The Murdocks

We had such a great weekend with the Murdocks. They’re always so nice to invite to spend time with them at their cabin. The kids are in heaven and it is so beautiful! We went to church with them this morning and then drove home. Back to our busy life!

Cabins

We had such a great day hanging around the cabin today. Brad made us a delicious breakfast on a black stone outside. It was the best breakfast burrito that I’ve ever had. We went for a walk around the neighborhood and toured a cabin Drew is building. The kids went on several ATV rides and loved it. On one of them they saw a moose! And a beautiful sunset. We stayed dry and warm today which I appreciated. The kids are always in heaven with their cousins and that makes these trips more than worth it.

Island Park

We’re off on another weekend getaway. The Murdocks invited us to their cabin for the weekend. We met them at the Big Springs River to float. It started raining but we decided to go anyway. It rained and then hailed for almost a half an hour and then the sun came out and warmed us up! But then another storm quickly rolled in and the last hour we were freezing! Sweet Luke curled up on my lap and shivered but never complained. It was hard and borderline miserable to be drenched and cold in our swimsuits but we survived and made a memory! Haha. Right when we got to the cabin we jumped in the hot tub to warm up. We’re so grateful to be cozy and warm and dry now and to be hanging out with family!

Golf

Ryder finished his golf camp today. He really loved it! He just really loves golf. Brad ended up taking Ryder and Luke to the golf course later today because Ryder kept asking. They all had fun. Luke was frustrated at first but after Brad taught him how to put, he enjoyed it a lot more.

My 15 Year Old!

We celebrated Kade’s birthday today! I can’t believe he’s 15 and almost ready to drive. It’s an exciting time in his life and we’re so grateful to be apart of it. He had two soccer practices today but we still tried to party as much as we could. I made him pancakes for breakfast, we went mini golfing, and we all went out to dinner as a family tonight. Then we had cake and ice cream at home for dessert. Kade is amazing. We all love him so much!

Golf Camp

Ryder has been going to golf camp this week and he’s been loving it. Kade was supposed to be doing it with him but that was before we knew he’d have two a day soccer practices. Ryder definitely wished Kade was there with him but he’s still been happy to go alone. This afternoon he was teaching Luke what he learned in the backyard.

Tenley had a volleyball game this afternoon and they won in 4 sets this time!

Ryder and Luke

Ryder and Luke are still making so much progress with their swim lessons. Ryder was doing the butterfly stroke today! And Luke is getting better at jumping into the water without floaties and without someone there to catch him. I’m so proud of them both!

We also all survived a day of two soccer practices, golf camp, swim lessons, ninja class, volleyball practice and a parent soccer meeting! The best part of the day is sitting on the couch with my family before bed!

Tenley

We all went to watch Tenley play her first JV volleyball game in Helena today. I can’t believe that as a 7th grader she gets to have this kind of experience. I’m grateful she was able to make the team. She did such a great job and even had some ace serves! Her team won the match in the 5th set. It was exciting to watch!
