Halloween

We had a simple and fun Halloween today. Ryder and Luke were the only ones that wanted to go trick or treating tonight. Tenley was having fun passing out the candy. Ryder wanted to be a skeleton tonight instead of a knight. He looked pretty scary. It was above freezing tonight which made it an ok night to walk around outside in the dark. The boys loved it.

School

Tenley was scheduled to have her braces taken off today. We got there and I dropped her off because it’s a long appointment and I had errands to run. And then I got a call from her orthodontist. There are a few more things that need to be fixed so she needs to leave them on for at least another month. The poor girl was so devastated! But it will definitely be for the best. She’s slowly getting over it. She’s a tough girl.

We came back to work on school and having Luke’s happy personality helped lighten the mood! 

Kade’s Talk

Kade spoke in church today and he wrote his talk all by himself! Brad and I gave him ideas and then he wrote a great talk. He spoke well and I was so impressed! He wore his new suit today which I’m so sad I didn’t get a picture of him in it! This morning Brad even helped him learn how to tie a tie and iron his white shirt! He is growing up!

Halloween Festivities

We had a fun filled day today! The kids had a recital this morning and all played so well. It was so fun to hear Tenley play the flute. I don’t often hear her practicing the flute because she does it in her room so I was so impressed by her progress. It always makes me smile to see them play.

Straight from the recital we took the kids to a special Halloween symphony. They played fun songs and even Luke enjoyed it.

And then tonight we had a Fall Festival at the church. There was chili and carnival games and a trunk or treat. The kids loved being with their friends.

Date Night

We had a busy day filled with good things. Kade has basketball practice and he’s really loving it. His coach is awesome and the players on the team are even better. It’s been a great experience so far. Luke had a birthday party with friends from co op. They had a blast. Then Brad and I got to go out to eat with friends. We went to a resort for dinner with a five course meal. It was fancy and delicious. I got my own s’mores for dessert that I made at the table. It was a lot of fun and we had fun with our friends. 

Halloween Parties

After co op today we got to stay and have a Halloween party with eveyone! The kids were so excited to dress up and play games. And the adults were so excited to chat and eat food! Haha

Snow Day

We woke up to so much snow this morning! It was heavy snow so luckily Kade was willing to snow plow for me. The little boys had set their snow clothes out last night and got in them right after breakfast. They had so much fun playing in the snow. And I’m just hoping it melts soon!

Kiwi Co

I signed all the kids up for kiwi co subscriptions and they love them! Ryder especially loves them. The second the box gets delivered he opens it and gets to work. He does well figuring it all out on his own too! 

Slow Mornings

One of my favorite things about homeschooling is being able to have a slow morning and not a rushed morning. It’s so much calmer in the home all morning and I love it. After a long drive home from Utah yesterday, a slow morning was just what we needed!

Utah Mountains and BYU Football

Utah is so beautiful in the fall. My parents have a great walking/biking path right by their house. I took advantage of it this morning and Brad and Kade enjoyed it this afternoon. 

My parents took us to a really fun park. My boys were so excited when they saw it. They kept saying it was the biggest park they had ever seen!

Then the little boys got to stay and party with grandma and grandpa while the rest of us went to the BYU football game. We had so much fun at the game! It was a beautiful night and the cougars won!

Family and Friends

Kade had such a fun time at his soccer camp today! He really loved it and felt like he learned a lot. I’m so glad we were able to do that for him. 

The rest of us had fun shopping and eating yummy creamery ice cream! Then my sister and her family came over tonight for dinner. It was so good to visit with them. So so good. I love and miss them! Brad took Kade and Tenley to the BYU volleyball game tonight and they had a lot of fun. 

They even met up with some old friends!

The Fall in Utah

We woke up before the sun to drive to Utah today. We needed to get Kade to a soccer goalkeeper camp with Real Salt Lake by 4. Luckily he made it on time and he had such a great time at his camp today! The facility was amazing and everyone was nice. He’s looking forward to going back tomorrow.

Brad dropped the rest of us off at my Dad’s office and the kids got to take a quick tour of the printing press. Then we enjoyed the beautiful fall weather with a walk around the neighborhood looking at Halloween decorations and exploring the gulley. The fall colors are amazing! I’m excited to be here for a few days!

Football Season

Ryder was pretty sad to have his last football game of the season tonight. He has loved playing! I’m glad he ended the season wanting more. It was a beautiful night to watch him play. We’ve been having such a great fall!

Windy Days

It was another sunny and beautiful fall day but the wind picked up. The kids actually thought it was a lot of fun. Ryder kept going out to see if he’d fly a little bit when he jumped. Luckily he didn’t fly away. Lol. These past two days of school with the kids were really good. Luke loves Math. He’s still doing at least three lessons each time. I love reading with Ryder and practicing his multiplication facts with him. And I’m so impressive with how independent Kade and Tenley are. It’s been such a good week and right now I love what we’re doing.

Creative Kids

The kids were so cute and creative today. After Luke finished school he brought up all the Lego boxes and found a tutorial on YouTube so he could build his own lego shark. He hasn’t finished it yet but I loved seeing his effort and determination. Then Tenley and Kade started playing duets by ear with the flute and piano. Tenley also got Ryder to play ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’ on the piano and she joined in with the flute. It was so fun to listen to. These days where I have nothing else keeping me from my kids are the best. 

Horses

Tenley got her last birthday present today, a chance to ride a horse! One of Brad’s hygienists owns some horses and she was kind enough to let us come over and have Tenley rode their horse Millie. Tenley was in heaven! It was a beautiful afternoon and Tenley was on cloud nine. She’s been asking to ride a horse for years so we’re excited it finally happened today! 

The other kids enjoyed playing on the property and Luke loved holding their lizard.
