Piano Scholarships

Kade had his piano scholarship concert tonight and he won! He and Tenley both played for it last year and Tenley won so Kade was excited for redemption. He played well and the judges loved it. He plays with such strength and power. I love listening to him and we’re all so proud of him!

We also enjoyed a nice sunny walk by the river today. It was a good day!

Tag

Tonight we all ended up downstairs dancing, playing tag, and playing basketball simultaneously.  The kids got pretty sweaty. It was a lot of fun!

Blue Skies

Although I wouldn’t exactly call it warm spring weather here, we’ve definitely been enjoying seeing the sunshine and even rolling the windows down once in a while! Of course, snow is in the forecast for tomorrow, but today was beautiful!

‘I Survived’

Ryder has been enjoying reading books lately a lot more than he used to. He got a new book from the I Survived series at school today and he was reading it while he walked to the car. It was so seeet to see!

Music

Tenley had her flute festival today. She was nervous because it was her first one but she did well. 

Tonight Kade and I played at a little piano party. Our friends piano is 100 years old so they invited players to come and play a song from one of the past 10 decades. I played “Jessica’s Theme” from the 80s and Kade played his Spanish Rhapsody song from the 90s. He also joined in on a Trio piece! We had fun enjoying everyone’s talents!

Visitors

The Murdocks left this morning to head back home. The visit went by so quickly! We will miss them! We headed to the ski hill after they left. Kade brought his friend Nathan with us and they skied on their own most of the day. The snow was icy! But we still enjoyed it.

The Murdocks

We had such a fun day with the Murdocks! Lesa and I got outside this morning to enjoy a run and then we took the kids swimming at the Peak. They could have swam most the day, but they eventually got hungry so we went out for pizza and ice cream. We had a fun night playing games and most of them got out tonight to see the northern lights!!

Walks at Sunset

The Murdocks arrived today! The kids are so excited to have this cousin time! They all went to the activity tonight and while they were gone Lesa and I went for a walk. The weather was so nice tonight. Bright sunshine and no wind! It was so nice to get outside.

Volleyball

Tenley had her first volleyball game tonight. She had some great serves and she had a lot of fun! It was a busy night but I’m glad we caught most of the game.

Kade had his HAM radio class which he loves. He and his friend Nathan have been talking back and forth a lot. Who needs a cell phone, right?

I got to go to a Relief Society activity tonight and learned how to find joy in the business of life. Sister Morin, one of my favorite people, shared a great message about being grateful and making every day special and always having something to look forward to. It was wonderful! Brad had a Bishop’s meeting so my little boys were with me but they were so good! 

Like I said, it was a busy night but it all worked out well.

Family Night

It’s been a while since we’ve had a free Monday night with no sports going on. We really enjoyed all hanging out together tonight!

Piano Festival

The kids had their piano festival today. Ryder was especially nervous but afterwards he said he really enjoyed it! The all did such a wonderful job! I’m so impressed by them and their desire to work hard and succeed.

St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s day is one of those holidays that to me doesn’t need to be celebrated. Maybe I don’t understand the purpose. But we did go up to the ski hill and saw very festive people which made it fun. They even had Irish music playing in the lodge. And the lift operator gave Ryder and Luke some fun ribbons for their helmets! It was fun!

Brad’s Birthday

We celebrated Brad’s 41st birthday today! He was at work most of the day but we had a nice dinner all together and he opened all his presents. The last present was actually a surprise scavenger hunt for the kids to finally tell them about our upcoming trip to Hawaii next month! Surprise! We are all so excited!

I think Brad’s favorite things is family time so it’s really a great birthday gift to have this fun family trip together to look forward to.

Flowers from Tenley

For Tenley’s young women’s activity tonight they learned how to arrange flowers. She brought home a huge beautiful display for the house! It’s cute and she had a lot of fun!

Swimming

For our last day of Spring Break we met friends at the pool! The kids loved it and wanted to swim all day. 

Spring Break

The kids have a little mini spring break from school these next few days so it was so nice to have a day off with them. We met some friends at the children’s museum and enjoyed it!

I’m

Tenley

Tenley gave her first talk in sacrament meeting today. She was really scared but she got up there and did it and I was so proud of her!

Fresh Powder

It was a cold, windy, and snowy day today but the powder on the ski hill was amazing! It was definitely worth the slick roads and poor visibility driving conditions. I probably only say that because we arrived home safely. But it truly was an incredible ski day!

My Kids

I love these kids so much. I am loving having Kade home. He’s so helpful to watch Luke for me when I need to run and visit a friend. And I got to go out to lunch with him today. I can’t wait for all of my kids to be home!

School on the Go

I had several errands to run today so instead of doing school at home, we did school on the go! Kade brought the computer along and was able to get a lot done while we got the oil changed in the car. It is so convenient.

Ham Radio

Kade has been studying for his ham radio technician license for several weeks. He took the test last month and failed so he’s been studying a lot more and was able to take it again today and he passed! I was so proud of him!! And he was so happy. I’m not exactly sure what you do with a ham radio but I guess he’ll teach us!

Basketball Season

Tenley just had her last basketball game tonight. I think she enjoyed the season! She has been improving so that is good. And volleyball starts tomorrow. It’s a good thing she loves sports!

Sunday

Sunday can be busy with Brad’s calling but we were still able to enjoy some relaxing time tonight all as a family watching The Chosen. It was so nice!
