Sister Missionaries

Our sweet sister missionaries came over this afternoon to say goodbye. They are both being transferred. I have had some really neat experiences going to teach lessons with them and I’m so grateful for them both!

Sunshine

After the cold and cloudy weather that we’ve been having, it felt so nice to have some sunshine!

The Fire Station

Brad and Kade went skiing this morning but Luke and I decided not to brave the -15 degree temperatures and we stayed home. Luckily the sun was shining the whole time for the boys so they stayed warm all day and had a lot of fun.
Luke and I got to go on a little field trip to the fire station to see the trucks and learn what it takes to be a firefighter. Then we hung out at the mall play place for a bit. I had fun with Luke.
After school I went to a basketball game with Tenley and her team. Her coach thought it would be fun to see how the high school girls play. During half time they got to shoot some hoops on the court. She had fun with her friends!

High School Basketball Games

We took the kids to the boys rival high school basketball game tonight. They call it cross-town because it’s the two high schools in the city that play each other. We were all cheering for CMR, except Luke. He wanted Great Falls High to win because their uniforms were blue. 😂 The game was a lot of fun to watch! It ended up going to overtime and with 20 seconds left in overtime CMR was down by three, but they managed to get a three point shot then turn it over and run it back for a dunk! It was pretty exciting!
Also, the -13 degree weather froze my hair this morning while I was shoveling. Kade tried to get a picture but it doesn’t do it justice.

Dinner with Luke

It was a strange night tonight because no one was home for dinner except Luke and me. Everyone else had activities at the church. So Luke and I had our own little date. Although he refused to call it a date. 😆

School Free Days

I loved that the kids were home from school today. We had a hot breakfast in the morning, lunch with Brad, and then played with friends at the trampoline park. It was a blast!

Kade’s First Job

Kade has a good friend whose family lives on a farm. They’re doing a lot of renovations and they offered Kade a job to help with the work. He has gone over three times now and has enjoyed the hard work! His friend’s dad got him a tool belt and some tools today. I think he’s an official part of the renovation team now!
The rest of us had a good Saturday getting caught up on chores and playing games.

Healthy

Ryder is doing so much better today! In fact he seemed back to his normal self which I was so happy to see! He still stayed home from school though, just to be sure, so he ran some errands with us. It’s nice to have everyone healthy right now!

Ryder

Our sweet Ryder has been sick all week. He has a bad flu I think. He can’t keep food down and he’s very weak. It’s so sad to see him this way and to see him this way for so long. I thought he was on the mend tonight because he was actually walking around so I took him for a drive to pick Tenley up from basketball practice. He must not have been ready for that though because he threw up right when we got home. I’m hoping he’ll show some improvement tomorrow!

Art

For Kade’s church activity tonight they went to learn how to draw from Tenley’s art teacher. They had a lot of fun! Their creations were pretty funny!

Sweet Cards

I woke up this morning to run on the treadmill and found the sweetest note from Kade. He left one for Brad as well by his keys. What a thoughtful boy we have! We don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, but it was still nice to receive the card. And I did still make a nice dinner for the family so there was extra love. Lol.

Funny Videos

Ryder really loves to watch America’s Funniest Videos and he wants to get a video of his on the show so badly. He had me film him ‘missing’ a kick with the football today. He’s pretty sure it will make it on T.V.! 😂

Fondue

Kade spoke in church this morning and did such a good job! The best thing about being a parent is watching your kids do good things.
Tonight we had a fun Super Bowl party with the kids. Tenley helped me make fondue and it was delicious! And our team won the game! We were excited for the Kansas City Chiefs!

Warm February Days

It had been unusually warm so far this February and I love it! The kids have been playing outside a lot which is nice. Luke also went to his first birthday party today. He had a lot of fun! And Kade had another stake dance tonight whcih he really enjoyed. Brad and I got to go on a date tonight as well. It was a fundraiser dinner with friends. We had fun with everyone and enjoyed the delicious food.
After our dinner we went to the dance to pick Kade up and Brad danced with me. He hates dancing so it was really so sweet of him!

Peanuts

My kids all love peanuts, especially Luke, so they were all excited when we took them out to eat at Five Guys. They have all you can eat peanuts there. Luke even calls it the peanut restaurant. It was fun to go out with them.

Kade

Kade had a neat experience volunteering tonight. He was able to play soccer with a girl who is deaf and unable to eat or drink. But he was kind to her and even got her to smile! He said he felt so grateful for his life afterward. He has been enjoying this opportunity to serve and help others.

Eternal Families

I was asked to speak at a funeral today for a friend whose husband just passed away. I hadn’t know them very long. She was Catholic and he was a member of the church so she wanted a member there to speak about eternal families. I was grateful for the opportunity to help in anyway I could and to strengthen my testimony about the plan of happiness, the Savior’s atonement, and eternal families.

Sunshine

It was a beautiful day today! The sun was shining bright, it wasn’t too windy, and it wasn’t too cold. We enjoyed a really nice walk around the neighborhood.

Ryder’s Baptism

Ryder chose to be baptized today! He’s been looking forward to this day for a while and he couldn’t believe how fast it all went by. The service went well and was so special. Grandpa Hobson and Kade gave the talks and all four of the kids sang “I Am a Child of God” together. Brad baptized Ryder and gave him the gift of the Holy Ghost. We were lucky to have family here and to have so many friends come to support him as well! Ryder is a special boy with a good heart and good intentions and we’re grateful that he’s ours!

Ryder

We celebrated Ryder’s 8th birthday today! He wanted to have a family ski day and it was a beautiful and sunny day on the mountain. George and Judy joined and Luke spent most of the day with them in the lodge but we did get a few runs in as a family which was a blast!
We came home to see Grandpa and Grandma Woodruff and Danny. We had pizza and  cake and ice cream. And he opened presents, of course. He really loved opening presents. He said his favorite present was his new set of scriptures!
Ryder still lives life in the fast lane and we do our best to keep up with him!
