The rest of the day was much less dramatic. We had fun at the pool, ate yummy food, enjoyed a hilarious and fun talent show, and had a campfire. It’s been a great reunion!

Safety
We went on a beautiful hike this morning at the city of rocks. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed exploring and seeing the amazing rock climbers along the way. Near the end, our group of about twenty got split in two and the group ahead took a wrong turn and were lost for about an hour. Brad, Luke and I were in the second group and when we finished the hike we expected to see the first group which included all of our other children. At first I wasn’t too worried but when it turned into over thirty minutes without finding them, I felt a little sick to my stomach. They did have adults with them and my amazing niece who is a nurse and trained in outdoor medical emergencies, but my momma heart just wasn’t thinking clearly. Gratefully not too much longer after that we finally got connected with the group and they were led back to the cars. My kids were thirsty and tired but safe! Phew.

Family Reunions
We drove most of the day today and made it to southern Idaho for a Hobson family reunion for the week! The kids are so excited to be here and ran off to be with cousins right when we arrived. They’ve already been swimming and we got to play some volleyball. It’s been a lot of fun!
Summer Rainstorms
The kids had soccer games tonight and right when we arrived a thunder storm rolled in. They sent us all to our cars and we had to wait 20 minutes for the storm to pass but then the games were back on! The kids were glad that they still got to play. Ryder had a really great assist! He runs hard. Kade and Tenley played well. Tenley loves being a defender and Kade had fun trying out offense. He got to play goal keeper as well which he always loves.

Kayaking
We took our new kayaks out on the river today for the first time. We had heard that the river was running pretty fast so we planned a 12 mile float thinking it would only take us three hours or so. It ended up taking five hours and the kids missed some of their activities but we had a lot of fun with them! They all love being on the water and swimming and switching kayaks and splashing each other. It was a blast.

28 Letters
Our stake youth get to go on trek in a few weeks and the Bishops of the wards were asked to write a letter to each of the youth from their ward that would be attending. That meant that Brad had 28 letters to write. Brad never does anything half way so he took time preparing a well thought out letter and hand wrote every note to each youth. It ended up taking him several hours over this past week. I hope they appreciate his words and wisdom!

Homemade Ice Cream
We got out for another walk this morning. It was so beautiful! We’ve also been making lots of different flavors of homemade ice cream lately to prepare for Brad’s family reunion where there will be a homemade ice cream competition. Yesterday we tried peanut butter with Reese’s and today it was chocolate with Oreos and fudge. So yummy!

Parties
Brad has this next week off and we are so excited to relax with him! We took them on a walk this morning by the river and enjoyed the sunshine. It rained later in the day so I’m glad we got out to enjoy the nice weather this morning.
Ryder had a birthday party at the bowling alley tonight and I got to meet up with friends as well for a going away party. It’s so sad to see people go!

Park Days
Ryder, Luke and I got to meet friends at the park this afternoon. It was windy, but warm and they had a lot of fun together.
Kade and Tenley had their first soccer game tonight! It’s so fun to have them on the same team.

Sprinklers
It’s finally warming up around here so we got the sprinklers out today. Ryder had a friend over and they all had a blast on the trampoline. Unfortunately after Ryder’s friend left our house he was jumping on the trampoline at his house and broke his thumb! I forget how dangerous tramps can be. Hopefully his friend recovers quickly!

Luke’s Decorating Skills
I was a little taken back when I walked into Luke’s room and saw his window sill set up so well with his favorite books, pictures, and toys. I shouldn’t have been too surprised though because he loves to organize and keep his room clean, but this was definitely new. Pretty cute though!
Ryder had another game tonight. We loved enjoying the game in sunny and warm weather! Much better than last week!

YM High Adventure
I finally have some pictures from Kade’s high adventure to share. He had a lot of fun on his first ever high adventure and I’m grateful that he got to experience it all with his dad. Beside all the rattlesnakes that they saw it sounds like a trip we’ll have to do as a family sometime!

Fathers
I love celebrating my wonderful father, father in law, and father of my children! They are all great men and they deserve some celebration. It was extra special this year having been able to be with my dad yesterday. And we were happy to be with Brad today. Since we had just gotten back from our trip dinner was a little difficult, but I felt pretty resourceful in finding a meal to make with fresh homemade bread and homemade honey cinnamon butter. We even tried fried ice cream in our air fryer but sadly it wasn’t that amazing. We may need to try a different recipe next time! 😆
