Choir Concerts

Tenley had her last basketball game tonight! She played well and had two baskets and a lot of great defensive plays. She had a fun season but she can’t wait for volleyball to start. 

Kade was one of the few members from his school to be invited to a combined choir of multiple elementary schools here in the city. Several of his friends from different schools were invited as well. They went to the college this morning and practiced all day and then put on the concert tonight. It was so much fun! He had a blast at the college and with his friends. I’m glad he got this opportunity.

Games

We’re still trying to get used to this early church schedule. It’s still strange to have so much time after church and to know how to best fill all that time. We did end up playing a game for a little bit which was fun! 

Friends

Ryder’s friend was baptized today and then had a birthday party afterwards. Ryder had a blast. Tenley had a birthday party to go to as well and after I picked her up we went to pick Ryder up and ended up staying another two hours at their house. The kids played with friends and I got to chat with my friends. It was so nice to catch up.

Superman

Luke decided to dress up as Superman today. So Brad played the Superman theme song a lot. And since we still have an old mattress, Luke practiced his Superman jumps. He’s so cute!

Brad took Ryder out to lunch for his birthday today. He was a bit surprised to be getting checked out but he was really excited. He chose McDonald’s. It’s a fun  and new tradition that Brad plans to do with all the kids.

Haircuts and Girl Time

Tenley has been begging to cut her hair all week. It’s so long that she sits on it now and she was ready for a change. I got her into an appointment this afternoon. Which did mean that I needed to check her out of school early. That just made it fun. She loves her haircut and it looks really cute on her! We had enough time to get a Frappuccino afterward. 

Ninja Class

Luke is still loving his ninja class and I just got Ryder into a ninja class on Wednesday as well. Ryder is so excited to be back in a ninja class. This gym and the teachers here are the best! 

Being with Luke

It was just Luke and me again today. We missed the other kids but Luke sure is fun to hang out with. He’s really into dinosaurs right now. He had his dinosaur shirt on and dinosaur toys and dinosaur blanket. He’s a cutie!

Kade had a basketball game tonight. They lost pretty badly but Kade played all out again. I love seeing that! Tenley was really sweet and made the boys ice cream sundaes tonight.

Presidents Day

We had a nice and relaxing holiday sleeping in and eating a warm breakfast. Except for Brad who was at work. I did try to take the kids to the church gym to play basketball but other people were already playing. There wasn’t much else to do because it was 1 degree outside. The boys created a fun lightsaber game to play together. And Brad and I were able to be at Tenley’s basketball game tonight. She’s improving and doing well!

 

New Beds

We got Kade and Tenley new beds! Tenley used to be on a twin now she’s on a queen and she is loving it. They both had really old beds so for the sake of our guests, and our children, we decided it was finally time to upgrade! 

Shoulder Massages

Kade had a basketball game early this morning. He played his friend which was fun to watch. His friend was a good trash talker and said his team was definitely going to win. Well he was right! Kade played great defense though. He’s a really good team player.

I sat in front of Ryder and he randomly started massaging my shoulders! It was funny but I appreciated it.

The Terrain Park

We had a lot of fun skiing today even though when we got there we found out that it was military day. Which meant it was really crowded. Maybe the busiest we have ever seen it. But the lines were still really short for the chair lifts.

The kids took me to the terrain park so they could show me their jumps. They are all so brave!

Parent Teacher Conferences

We had a busy afternoon! I had parent teacher conferences with each of the kids teachers. All three of them are doing so well in school socially and academically. I’m so proud of them. It was nice to hear each teacher sing their praises and wish their class was full of kids like them. We sure got lucky with our kids!

The Reflections Contest

In high school I submitted an original song to the annual Reflections contest and took first place at my high school (out of two people, but still…lol). So when I saw the kids bring home the Reflections flier I encouraged them all to enter. Tenley was the only one that decided to. She created a beautiful piece of art and received an honorable mention! Her artwork is now on display in her school. I was so proud of her!

Wedding Dress Shopping

My niece is getting married in a few months and I’m so excited for her! My sister in law Hailey and I got to join in through a FaceTime call on her wedding dress shopping today. It was so much fun! She is going to make such a beautiful bride!

Valentine’s Day

It’s always fun to be a little bit sweeter to my people today. I made the kids German pancakes for breakfast and have them each a little stuffed toy and chocolate. I think even Kade appreciated it. The little boys definitely did. Tenley’s teacher from church stopped by to heart attack our door. It was really sweet and made Tenley’s day. 

We got to see Tenley’s game tonight. She played great defense, had several rebounds, and made a few baskets. It was fun!

Luke was in charge of the night so we watched “Up,” one of my favorites. He’s really loving it right now because he saw Kevin in Disney World. We also had fondue and homemade carmelitas. It was pretty delicious!

Technic Lego Set

Ryder got a technic lego set for his birthday. I had no idea how difficult those were before he asked for my help. He did most of it all on his own though and he finished today! He was so excited.

We had a good morning at church and a nice afternoon. The weather was sunny so Keena and I got out for a walk. And then we enjoyed watching the Super Bowl.

Mr. Fix It

We had a busy Saturday morning. My friend had a 30th birthday brunch at her house. It was fun to go and see so many friends and meet new ones. Then I ran Ryder over to his friend’s birthday party. It was at a friend of ours brand new home so it was fun to see it. It is beautiful! 

Brad spent the day changing a kitchen outlet of mine from two to four. I’m constantly switching the plugs so he was thoughtful enough to make it better. It will be nice to have! He always puts a lot of effort into projects and I’m so grateful he enjoys fixing things.

The Pet Store

The kids still have a lot of work to make up at school from our vacation so we decided to have them go to school today instead of skiing. We miss skiing though. Hopefully next week!

Brad and I ran errands with Luke and took him to a pet store. He loved seeing the animals.

When the kids got home Tenley was nice enough to sit with Ryder and help him make a Valentines box. It turned out so cute!

Candy Dispensers

I can’t believe it’s already Thursday! This week has flown by which has been nice. Luke and I ran some errands and one was at the mall. He learned last week at the airport that you can sometimes get lucky when you turn a candy dispenser and get some free candy. He tried all the dispensers at the mall and got two free toys! It was hilarious.

Kade had a basketball game tonight and he played so well! He played hard and it was good to see him give his all. 

Mornings at the Park

The weather was really nice this morning. Well, nice for Great Falls in February at least. Luke and I met my friend at the river after school drop for a walk. After she left Luke played at the park. We had the place to ourselves. I’m already loving this weather, but I better be prepared for a snowstorm. I’m sure we’ll have another one.

For Tenley’s church activity tonight they heart attacked the Bishop’s door, aka her dads! She loved it.
