Perfect Weather

We have been so spoiled this summer with mild weather. I am loving it! We've had the windows open most nights because it's been so cool and I love the fresh air. Brad BBQ-ed for us tonight and Kade and Tenley had fun jumping and playing on the tramp together.
I'm seriously in love with this weather. Where can I live that gets weather like this more often??

Random Acts of Kindness

My sweet friend brought me over some delicious cookies tonight. It was so extremely thoughtful of her!
Nice, thoughtful people are the best!

Swimming Lessons

Kade has swim lessons all week with his friend Max. He loves his instructor and is excited to learn how to swim! It's so fun watching him grow and learn!
The girls have had lots of fun playing together at the splash pad while we wait for swim lessons to be over.

Relief Society

I love being apart of Relief Society, the largest women's organization in the world! It truly is amazing what big things can be accomplished with a little help from everyone.
Over the weekend we were asked to provide dessert for a funeral and so many sisters signed up to help and I was amazed at all the treats we had when I was putting them together! It felt good to serve someone especially during such a hard time!

Birthday Parties

Kade's friend Lilly had a birthday party today and even though Kade was the only boy, he had a blast! He was sweet to think of Tenley during the crafts and had made her a bracelet and an Olaf snowman. He is so sweet!

"Tangled"

Tenley's new friend Mia has nicknamed her "tangled." It is so cute! Mia loves that movie and since Tenley is blonde and her name sounds similar it fits!

Stormy Days

It was so nice to have a storm roll in this morning and cool things down a bit. Plus I love watching a Midwest rainstorm. The afternoon was cool enough for us to head outside on a walk. We loved it.

The other day Brad had a break in the middle of the day and he got to come home and have lunch with us. We loved it!

Bloomington

We had an open Saturday as a family so we decided to cross off another one of our "must-dos while in Indiana" and drive down to Bloomington. I loved it there! There were a lot of green rolling hills and the weather was perfect. We spent a lot of time at a fun park, drove around campus at Indiana University, and got some yummy ice cream at Brusters. We had a lot of fun!

Sharing, Superman Poses

We had some fun at the library with friends today! There weren't enough computers for all of the kids to have their own so it was nice to see them share and play together!

The kids love to play with their Dad when he gets home and right now their favorite thing is to fly like superman. Kade is getting pretty good at it, but Tenley is still trying to figure out how to stick her feet out straight. It was cute to see Kade try and help her!

Anderson Otchards, Apple Cider Slush, Helpful People

Today we met up with friends at one of my favorite places in Indianapolis to pick raspberries, Anderson Orchards. It was a beautiful morning with mild weather and great friends! After our friends left the kids and I got an apple cider slush and headed to my favorite part of the orchard. It was fun to enjoy a moment there with them, but when we went to get back in the car and drive home the car wouldn't start! Luckily there were a couple of nice strangers who were willing to help me jump start my car and we got home safely!

Change of Clothes

This is a picture of sweet little Tenley in her friend Jaxson's clothes right after she fell in the fountain at the mall.
I'm grateful for prepared friends who are willing to share! And I'm grateful that Tenley wasn't hurt!

New Picnic Blankets, New Friends

We've been enjoying lunch picnics outside with our new picnic blanket. It took me longer than I wanted to finish the blanket and I was reminded why I don't quilt very often, but I love the end result and the memories we'll make with it!

We've had lots of new families move into our area for school and it's been fun to get to know them! Tonight we got to have dinner with a family that has a son Kade's age and a daughter Tenley's age. They got along really well and are excited to have some new friends!

Silly Crafts

I hardly ever do crafts with my kids because I just don't consider myself a crafty person, but Tenley talked me into helping her make a silly little fuzzy person today. It was fun to do a project with her and Kade and I especially loved seeing her love her little fuzzy so much!

Grandma Woodruff, Airplane Snacks, Safe Travels

Today was our long day of traveling back home to Indianapolis. It's so hard to leave our family that we love so much and know that it could be a year before we see them all again!
This morning my sweet Mom put everything else aside and played with my kids for over an hour so Brad and I could get ready and get everything packed up. It was so nice to hear then laugh and giggle with her and to listen to her read them stories. She is such an amazing Grandma and I'm grateful for the love she gives to my kids.

After almost two weeks and a lot of miles traveled by plane and by car, we finally made it safely home tonight. Tenley loved her snacks on the airplane and she and Kade both were excited to sleep in their beds tonight. We're grateful for the trip that we had as a family and are also grateful to be back home again.

Entertainment for the Kids, The Cemetary, Late Night Swimming

Today we took on the hard, long, exhausting task of cleaning out Brad's childhood home with his Dad and siblings. We didn't get it all cleaned out, but all the important and special items were divided up and cleared out. It was an emotional process but it helped to go through it together. It was also nice that a huge water slide was rented for the kids to keep them entertained and out of the house. Kade was out there with his cousins for about seven hours going up and down the slide. He loved it!

After we forced ourselves to stop cleaning we went to the cemetary to see the beautiful new headstone for Brad's Mom. Brad and I arrived first before everyone else got there and it was so nice to enjoy the peaceful, calm spirit that is there at the cemetary.
Even though it was 9:30 by the time we left the cemetary we needed to add some fun to the day so we went swimming at Brad's brothers house for an hour. Our kids have been staying up super late and are exhausted but they were happy to enjoy more time with cousins!
