White Chicken Chili

Today was gloomy and rainy. Both my kids are sick and I'm not feeling all that well myself. So the perfect dinner tonight was white chicken chili with corn bread. YUM!

Now here's to hoping for a sunny day with healthy kids tomorrow!

Food Coloring

This afternoon after Kade and I finished reading Green Eggs and Ham, he decided that he wanted to eat green eggs for lunch! Luckily, I was able to dig up some green food coloring out of the cupboard and make green eggs.

And he loved them.

Technology

Every Sunday night we are able to video chat with my parents and in-laws. I'm so grateful for the technology that makes that possible! It closes the physical distance between us and my kids LOVE to be able to actually see their grandparents! I look forward to our video chats every week.

Grandparents are the BEST!

My Princess

I cannot get enough of my little princess! She is always so happy and I love being with her. I would cuddle her all day if she would let me. It would probably be a pretty unproductive day, but it would be so worth it.

Fall Break

It is so nice when Brad gets a break from school! Yesterday was his last day for the rest of the week and we celebrated last night with him having a cold. :( He felt good enough to go golfing with his friends today, though! Haha. Hopefully we'll have some fun tomorrow!

A few weeks ago after his monthly final we were able to get out and enjoy the nice fall weather at a park. I LOVE the fall! And we bought some yummy donuts from a local bakery to enjoy while we were there. It was a good day!

Books

Kade loves to read. A few weeks ago, my mother-in-law's friend, Genie, sent us a bunch of books. Most of which are Dr. Seuss books, and Kade has fallen in love with them! His favorite is And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street. We have been reading it every night since we got it and he has most of it memorized.

I now dream in Dr. Seuss rhyme.

Games

Kade loves to play games. He'll say, "Mama, lets play games!" And then he'll just make up games with whatever he finds lying around. Today he had us throw small balls at a coin on the floor. He even shared with Tenley! That doesn't happen very often so I was excited.
Kade is in the midst of potty training, hence the fact that he is still in his pajamas!

Whenever I'm in the kitchen I love to listen to Pandora on the computer. This usually turns into a dance party when my son comes in. He loves to dance! Mainly he just runs around in circles and jumps up and down but it sure is fun! My favorite song lately is Somewhere in Brooklyn by Bruno Mars. I love belting out the lyrics and shaking my hips while I hold my little girl.

Inspired

I have been inspired to start a gratitude blog. Right now I live 1,520 miles away from my parents. My husband is in dental school. I am a homemaker with two young children. My son is 3 years old and my daughter is 11 months.
Sometimes life is overwhelming.
Sometimes I forget how blessed my life really is.
It is hard to live so far away from family and it is hard when my husband is so busy with school and it is hard to be a good mother! But I am learning! And I have learned that I need to take the time every day to count my blessings and see the good and wonderful things around me!
